The Compass is a newly opened pub and eatery on the site of the old Salmon and Compass on Chapel Street, Islington N1. With three real ales and proper scrumpy on draught, the range of drinks are the perfect complement to the delicious and sensibly priced food served in this relaxed and unpretentious environment. The huge open kitchen prepares daily lunch specials, homemade pies and desserts, along with a selection of unusual bar snacks including The World's Greatest Scotch Egg, homemade pickles and breads. Part gastro pub, part bustling bar and part friendly local restaurant, The Compass combines a large ground floor bar with a beautiful first floor function room, complete with an open fire. Furthermore the pub faces south, so the six large outside tables get sunshine all day during fine weather.

alright, although wouldn't want to pay full price. benefited from 'january love'- food was pleasant, but at what would have been [$] just for food for 2, loads of other places I'd choose over it. Included Spices, just down the street.v. good selection of drinks - love the aspalls on tap
