Restaurant description
With its fantastic location in the country, but close to St Albans, The Colney Fox boasts a unique ivy-enclosed appearance, while offering traditional British pub cuisine. Formerly a popular hotel, The Colney Fox still has a comfortable Innkeeper’s Lodge, as well as a cosy hearth-fire and a pretty beer garden.
Hearty Sunday roasts and trusty British dishes head The Colney Fox menu, and a range just for kids offers mini versions of pub favourites. Signature Vintage pies offer fillings like beef & merlot with buttered peas, while The Colney Fox ‘Vintage classics’ menu includes lemon & garlic-roasted chicken with seasoned chips.
Paying homage to the Great British pub, the Vintage Inn bar stock includes cask-conditioned beers, real ales and a meticulously compiled wine list. Thirst-quenching offerings include seasonal non-alcoholic cocktails and freshly-pressed juices, and rich coffee is brewed freshly throughout the day.
The Colney Fox in London Colney is merely 10 minutes’ drive from St Albans.

This is a very nice venue. The food selection on the menu is excellent and well cooked. The setting is old world but effective different in hatyou have to pay at a parking meter but the cost is refunded when you pay the bill

I have been here many times but today the food and the service were outstanding. My friend was visting me from Manchester so I had recommended this pub so I crossed my fingers that everything would be okay! I had the pate as a starter and my friend had the lobster and prawn salad. As the waitress put the starter in front of me you just knew it was a different chef. The presentation of the food was beautiful and it tasted heavenly. When our main course came , the food was to die for. I had turkey roast and the roast potatoes were so lovely. Never had roast potatoes like that before!! Caulifower cheese was gorgeous too. The beautiful young lady that looked after us was called Brooke and she was amazing. So polite and always had a smile. So all in all we had a wonderful Easter Sunday. Couldnt fault it in anyway.

I visit frequently and usually have a good experience however the last time was not so good. The wait for food was longer than usual and when it arrived it was barely warm. When I asked to order another drink the waitress was unable to take the order and we had almost finished our meal when another waitress took our order. When I offered feedback on my meal which was lovely but cold( I had not been asked) the waitress apologised.
