Restaurant description

An historic London pub dating back to 1798, The Cock Inn has been given a contemporary makeover inside, with colourful boutique styling. Outside, there is a huge beer garden and al fresco dining area.

The extensive Cock Inn menu boasts a range of gourmet recipes, such as slow-cooked pork belly with seared scallops, lobster brioche roll with twice cooked chips and thermidor dip, and duck confit with waffle. There is a dedicated children's menu, as well as a popular Sunday roast selection with vegetarian nut roast option.

The Cock Inn Barnet desserts include irresistible classics like treacle tart, warm chocolate fondant, and Glenwn Farm ice cream with home-baked triple chocolate cookies. A full wine list sits alongside a solid selection of beers and ales.

With its tranquil outdoor areas being perfect for the warmer months, The Cock Inn is only a 7-minute walk from Cockfosters Tube Station, and right beside Trent Park.

There was 2 large parties in restaurant and was very noise so asked to have food in main bar which was very enjoyed by both of us the food was superb and the decor was very good . The only problem was the latte’s were not very hot and I know they are milky these looked as though only possibly 1/2 a shot of coffee but they came back much hotter but still very milky.

Decor and ambiance is great - very buzzy, obviously a great meting place. Staff were very nice but not very experienced. We ordered Mediterranean mezze. Very average not much on the plate. Main courses were fine and we finished with desserts and coffees. A very enjoyable evening but probably won’t return.

£92 for 2 is expensive. The main course was average. Good dessert. Won't be coming again. Won't be recommending anyone. There are better restaurants in Cockfosters

I had corned beef hash, .now I've eaten corned beef hash for 86 years and believe me this wasn't corned beef hash as we know it, Wasn't very nice either. But otherwise the lunch was OK

Considering there were only two staff manning what seemed like the restaurant and the drinking area, the service and food was superb.

The service was quick and courteous and ambiance pleasant. My soup starter was delicious but the main course rather disappointing.
