Gaining its name from the numerous chimneys atop its roof, The Chimneys in Hooton offers trusted British pub food, views on the spectacular Wirral Peninsula, an al fresco garden and welcoming open fires connected to the chimneys. The high ceilings also add a spacious and grand feeling to The Chimneys.
Hearty Sunday roasts and trusty British dishes head The Chimneys menu, and a range just for kids offers mini versions of pub favourites. Signature Vintage pies offer fillings like beef & merlot with buttered peas, while The Chimneys ‘Vintage classics’ menu includes lemon & garlic-roasted chicken with seasoned chips.
Paying homage to the Great British pub, the Vintage Inn bar stock includes cask-conditioned beers, real ales and a meticulously compiled wine list. Thirst-quenching offerings include seasonal non-alcoholic cocktails and freshly-pressed juices, and rich coffee is brewed freshly throughout the day.
The Chimneys is just 6 minutes’ drive from Ellesmere Port, or 2 minutes from Hooton Train Station.

Service and meal very good ...sunday roast amazing

Very good and very popular place to eat. food excellent and plentiful, staff very efficient and friendly even when obviously extremely busy. The Sunday roast sharing platter more than enough for two healthy appetites with plenty of veg too. one downside was having to walk through smokers at the main door.

Pint of Owl Beer tasted very woody - sent it back to bar! Given a set menu 2 courses / 3 courses which looked a good price We orded Box-baked Camembert* £10.75 topped with cider-soaked raisins, served with celery and rustic bread (V) Ideal to share- CELERY WAS DECOMPOSING ON PLATE, sent back to kitchen, still waiting for a reply to why it was sent out? Ordered 2 10oz ribeye £18.95 - 1 blue & 1 medium/well -- both were the same rare, I could not eat mine! Ordered Classic sherry trifle* WITHOUT CHOCOLATE -- came with chocolate! Ordered 2 coffees with brandy seperate got charged two different prices for same coffee?. We were told the dinner set menu is only Mon - Sat, so why where we given the set menu? Booked via bookatable expecting 25% off total bill - FULL BILL OF £131 ARRIVED. So glad I took my bookiatable e-mail. Sorry but terrible meal for 4 costing £131 - 25% discount. NO I WILLRECOMMEND CHIMNEYS AND I WILL NOT BE RETURNING!

Meal was returned as it was only warm, although it was very nice when hot. My partner ate his meal alone which isn't what a meal out is about, it ruined the evening.

Our table was booked for 1pm, we arrived on time, by 1.30 we still hadn't seen a waitress so gave up and put our order in at the bar. Our food did not arrive until 2pm, a wait that we thought was unacceptable. We stopped a waitress to ask where our food was and were offered a complimentary coffee as they were understaffed and busy, neither of us wanted coffee before our food. The food, when it arrived was good and fortunately we did not have to wait quite so long for our dessert, we then had our complimentary coffee. I realise that they were understaffed but we had booked our table as had, I'm sure, the larger parties that were lunching too so surely the management had a pretty accurate number for dining and therefore should have made sure that there was enough staff to cope. A pleasant lunch that was spoiled, don't think we will return.

Booked table online which was very easy to do. It was a pre theatre meal for myself, my partner (who lives in Little Sutton) and her sister and brother-in-law because we were going to see Rod Stewart in concert at the Echo Arena Liverpool and were travelling by train. Service was excellent and food was delicious as always.
