Gaining its name from the numerous chimneys atop its roof, The Chimneys in Hooton offers trusted British pub food, views on the spectacular Wirral Peninsula, an al fresco garden and welcoming open fires connected to the chimneys. The high ceilings also add a spacious and grand feeling to The Chimneys.
Hearty Sunday roasts and trusty British dishes head The Chimneys menu, and a range just for kids offers mini versions of pub favourites. Signature Vintage pies offer fillings like beef & merlot with buttered peas, while The Chimneys ‘Vintage classics’ menu includes lemon & garlic-roasted chicken with seasoned chips.
Paying homage to the Great British pub, the Vintage Inn bar stock includes cask-conditioned beers, real ales and a meticulously compiled wine list. Thirst-quenching offerings include seasonal non-alcoholic cocktails and freshly-pressed juices, and rich coffee is brewed freshly throughout the day.
The Chimneys is just 6 minutes’ drive from Ellesmere Port, or 2 minutes from Hooton Train Station.

Arrived on time and our initial drinks order was brought to us reasonably quickly. We then waited about 25 minutes until I managed to snag a passing waitress to give our food order in. We were told that one of the beef dishes was off. The waitress came back to tell my vegetarian wife that her choice was off and would she açcept a veggie burger. She agreed and we asked for an extra cauliflower cheese portion. Yes, you guessed it; caulie cheese was off. The manager made no charge for the drinks but we left. Won't be going back.
