Our meal was superb. Service first class. Very relaxed atmosphere. Only two niggles: where I was seated, I was cold, due mainly to the front door being opened a lot. Second niggle was the fact that I being a vegetarian had no choice of meal, as there was only one starter and one main suitable.

Dinner was very good. We thought the prawn and crab roulade was very innovative .
Pheasant and venison and plaice dishes excellent and generous in portion.
Less choice on deserts but the apple tatin was delicious .
The atmosphere was quite subdued for a Friday night but the dining room is very pleasant

I booked afternoon tea at The Chase Hotel Ross on Wye as a treat for a friend. Lovely sandwiches and stunning cakes. Too much to eat though! Maybe reduce the cakes and reduce the price. £16 I found a bit steep! Very quiet experience but a lovely place... Should be full of chatting ladies partaking in tea!
