Very nice dining room. Food is excellent but quite expensive. I was surprised that having been seated it was so long before we had any further staff contact. No one asked us if we wanted any pre dinner drinks. Apart from poor service a lost opportunity for the restaurant. I did eventually call a waiter over but if we had not had the wait we may well have invested more heavily in pre dinner drinks. With the restaurant pricing the meals according to whether 2 or 3 courses were ordered I was surprised to receive a bill with the price of each course itemised. I still have no idea if the additions of the separate items come to the price quoted on the menu but I assume they did. Not good practice by the restaurant as it brings attention to the fact we were paying £11+ for a slice of beetroot topped with a blob of cream cheese! Nicely presented sanitation station

This is our third visit recently. We were very impressed the hotel had strong covid procedures in place before Boris reinforced them. This continues. The staff are all the same each visit very friendly professional and careful . The food is to our liking and thus excellent. Good choice incorporating all the core expectations prepared and presented perfectly. The Wine list is compact with main brand champagnes and a good selection of reds and whites covering the popular in vogue varietals which are easy to match to the menu

Afternoon tea absolutely wonderful. Been before and new it wouldn't disappoint. Chocolate cake and clotted cream scones to die for. So good we have booked a festive tea in December.
