Restaurant description
Overlooking the intriguing ruins of an old monastery, The Castell Mynach near Cardiff delivers traditional British pub cuisine in a beautiful country atmosphere, but remains comfortably close to the city. The seasonally prepared food can be enjoyed in front of the cosy log fire, or al fresco from the beer garden with views of the monastery.
Hearty Sunday roasts and trusty British dishes head The Castell Mynach menu, and a range just for kids offers mini versions of pub favourites. Signature Vintage pies offer fillings like beef & merlot with buttered peas, while The Castell Mynach ‘Vintage classics’ menu includes lemon & garlic-roasted chicken with seasoned chips.
Paying homage to the Great British pub, the Vintage Inn bar stock includes cask-conditioned beers, real ales and a meticulously compiled wine list. Thirst-quenching offerings include seasonal non-alcoholic cocktails and freshly-pressed juices, and rich coffee is brewed freshly throughout the day.
The Castell Mynach is a mere 7-minute drive from Pontyclun and is in Llantrisant.

Lovely venue, friendly staff but was disappointed with our meals. My brother and I both ordered the same (Superfood salad with halloumi which came to £13 each). It tasted lovely but the portion size was so small (slightly larger than my fist, with only 2 slices of halloumi), we then ordered a portion of chips ((£2.90 extra) which consisted of 10 chips. Looking at other diners meals though, they looked substantial.

Slow service. Over priced food. Very bland. Kofta starters £6 each which were basically straight out of a packet. Very dissapointed.

Long wait to order and for food. Food lukewarm and had to be reheated. Food was good once reheated.
