A sophisticated Knightsbridge hideaway, The Cadogan was once the luxurious home of Edward VII's mistress. In the opulent surroundings of the drawing room, guests can sample a decadent array of treats for afternoon tea, whilst the Great Taste restaurant offers a unique gourmet dining concept.

In stunning jewelled shades of ruby, amethyst and amber, The Cadogan London features oversized mirrors, an original glass chandelier and a striking Carrera marble Louis XIV fireplace. The Cadogan signature dishes include pollack baked in salt dough, and Tommi’s chocolate and chilli cake.

A partnership between Great Taste Awards and The Cadogan hotel, The Cadogan restaurant champions the finest British producers. The Great Taste menu has been compiled by arguably the industry's most respected food critic and reviewer for the Evening Standard since 1972, Fay Maschler, and her sister, the chef Beth Coventry. Incorporating a stock of award-winning ingredients, favourites include wild hot-smoked Albacore tuna, or Rhug lamb tagine with cous cous.

Offering decadent British treats since 1887, The Cadogan afternoon tea is a refined affair. Served in high society surroundings, guests can enjoy piled-high finger sandwiches, cakes and dainties, with accompaniments including fine loose leaf teas and champagnes.

Amidst designer boutiques on London's Sloane Street, The Cadogan restaurant at The Cadogan is a 7-minute walk from Knightsbridge Tube Station.

A lovely afternoon in London having a cream tea. The staff were excellent and the food lovely. The atmosphere and grand décor of the The Cadogan was just right.

Fantastic location and service was simply impeccable...though afternoon tea was disappointing. Bread was dry, cakes were ok had to cut everything in 2..., scones were nice plenty of tea replenishment but none in food.

My friend and I made a special trip to London for a final reprise of wonderful memories of the BEST champagne afternoon tea ever--and were in no way disappointed. The service, ambience, generosity re 'top ups', and delicious food/ drinks were amazing once more. This time we concluded our meal with an iced coffee for my friend , and a superb iced tea for me--which complemented the best chocolate mint macaroons on the planet! To be given a pot each of our favourite jam by the chef was literally 'the icing on the cake'. My vegetarian sandwich option was 'no problem at all' . Well done the two lovely interns, manager, chef and welcoming staff.
We would say that we will be back again soon, but as the hotel is due to close in a few days time until 2016, that will obviously not be possible. We beg the new owners not to lose the slightly faded, historical beauty of the rooms in their revamp--and to retain the fabulous staff!

Lovely afternoon tea - 2nd time there. We were treating a friend for her 70th birthday. The deal was for a glass of bubbly plus tea. All very nice and everything got eaten! When they realised it was a birthday treat another glass of bubbly was served to each of us with no extra cost. All staff were lovely and made us feel special. We were the last ones there but we didn't feel we needed to leave. Another great experience and would definitely recommend this venue.

Mine was actually NOT a dining experience but a champagne afternoon tea. I truly enjoyed the charming, sober but stylish environment, the extreme courtesy of the staff, the quality of food. It was Saturday but it was not overcrowded so that I could enjoy my tea with friends in a peaceful not noisy space.

2 problems. 1. Some of the white bread was stale that was used for the finger sandwiches
    2. We were not placed in area that was confirmed in the booking. It was a breakfast area which looked very 'tired'.
