Restaurant description

Specialising in hearty American classics, The Bridge Restaurant @ ExCeL London is a bright, airy setting that's an ideal spot to relax and unwind over leisurely meals. Huge skylights let light flood in, and there is a bar serving craft beers and glasses of bubbles.

The Bridge Restaurant menu focuses on timeless American flavours. The signature burger can be customised with toppings like smoked bacon and flat mushroom, while the beef rib is glazed with bourbon and slow cooked for 8 hours. There is cajun-spiced chicken and pork sausage, shell-on prawns with cocktail sauce, and gourmet sides including sweet potato fries.

For dessert, save room for classics like banoffee pie with chocolate chip cream, and warm chocolate brownie. From the bar at The Bridge Restaurant in Docklands, there is a selection of craft beers on offer, alongside select wines and bubbles.

The staff were courteous and very professional. great experience and we were looked after for the 4 lunchtimes we joined you. The only negative I found were the menu options were so limited and didn't cater very well for allergies or intolerances due to the preparation, so I ate the same thing 3 out of the 4 days. It may be worth while providing more side dishes, so allergy sufferers can eat a tapas-style meal.

Restaurant was clean and nicely laid out. Menu was varied but a bit overpriced. I had a caesar salad which was mainly lettuce and not much chicken.

The restaurant is a pleasant and comfortable place to sit when visiting Excel shows (the only restaurant), but the service is unfortunately typical of event-driven catering, seemingly staffed by temporary workers with little or no concept of table service. Everyone was perfectly friendly and accommodating, but the actual service was slow and indifferent, side orders didn't arrive or arrived out of sequence - a side order of fries for the main dish arrived with the starter, was returned, then failed to be provided with the main course. Food was good, not great and overall is probably acceptable, but it isn't fine dining. The coffee is poor quality and served in large mugs. I would rather have a cup of good quality coffee than an American style mug of steaming hot, but watery and tasteless coffee.

We ate here last time we were at the Excel and loved it so much we wanted to come back whilst visiting the London Classic Car show. Booking was easy, although we did swap the reserved table for one with a better view of the main hall. Staff all very friendly and food was good - salmon and beef rib (and portions were huge!). Not overly noisy and no rush to finish lunch. Will definitely visit again next time.

The Bridge is a great feature at ExCel. The food is also good. It's a great place to escape the hustle and bustle of a tradeshow and get a few minutes off your feet. However, the service is awful! My best advice is to order everything immediately as the waitstaff will only visit your table once (unless you hunt them down). Also, if you make any special requests to your order, even the tiniest of changes, the kitchen will NOT get it right and the waitstaff will NOT double check it before bringing it to you. It is highly recommended that you bring your patience with you when dining here. Finally, it is not a fast service restaurant. You'd think it'd offer fast turn-around service considering it's in the middle of a convention center, but they haven't grasped that concept yet.

We had a business lunch during ICE. The food was ok, but the burger was a bit too well done.

We booked in advance asking for a quiet table from 12.00-17.00 as we had several Accountex guests to meet, which was confrmed. On arrival, the lady in charge had no record of the booking but as the place was empty we chose an ideal location by pushing 2 tables together ourselves. Helpful staff took our food and drink orders. The wine had to go back as it had been in a part empty bottle for a few days and was replaced politely. The food was fine, served quickly and attentively. The place remained nearly empty throughput which was just as well as the two duty staff wouldn't have coped. When our 15.00 guests arrived we were told the restaurant was closed, despite our (lost) booking till 17.00. We had to take them down to a nasty cafe and feed them sub standard burgers. Most embarrassing.

A bizzare experience. We arrived at the Bridge bar and asked if there was a lift up to the Bridge restaurant as our babies buggy is quite bulky, the response from the staff member was “I don’t know sorry” I couldn’t quite get my head round someone working there not knowing whether there was a lift up to their own restaurant! We found there was a staff service/delivery list so we used that. Once upstairs the welcome was very warm and friendly and the table generous in size plus our request for a high chair had been noted, top marks there. Ordering and table service of the drinks was the return of strangeness, drinks dumped on the corner of the table for us to sort out ourselves and the glasses and bottle of wine put directly in front of our 1 year old! Anyone will no that’s not a good idea! Back to a positive, the quality of the food was very good and tasty meals for all. So to sum up I think the weakness must be something to do with the bar, perhaps they took on agency staff to cope with extra business during the motor show. A mixed bag!

Wanted to a place for business meeting at the excel and hence pre-booked online which was easy. Therefore was able to jump the queue and go straight to the table. Despite the hectic environment the service was good. Food was of good quality, well presented and well priced. Due to the setting in atrium acoustics was not ideal.
