Waited far too long for meal (40 minutes for starter and an hour for main!), despite having a booking. Main meal had good portions and was tasty. However the beef was utterly awful as the toughest I can ever remember. You need to do a lot better than this. Waitress Lucy was good. Environment excellent and very quiet corner in restaurant as we had requested. I signed up as a Friend earlier this year, but never hear about offers.

I always find with the Braunton Inn that there's never a real welcome or goodbye. The restaurant side was empty when we arrived for our booked table so booking was unnecessary. The waiter was pleasant enough. I just had soup which was watery and I expected s big chunk of crusty bread or a roll but had two tiny pieces of bread. My husband enjoyed his beef and merlot pie but the veg was just boiled cabbage and carrots and mashed potato. Our friend had a mackerel rarebit and had to ask for some bread which it needed. The dining room is too dark also - the floor lamp behind my husband fell apart! I feel they need to get their customer service sorted with a hearty welcome and a thanks for coming. Such a beautiful setting deserves the best.

We had been to the Braunton in on a number of occasions in the past and although the food was always good, the service was often slow. We decided to give them another try and although we were told that there would be a 40 minute wait for food, our starter came within 15 minutes and there was just a small delay between that and the main. The waitress worked really hard and our faith in the place has been rekindled.

We were a party of five - a birthday celebration. It was unfortunate for the Restaurant that their grill had broken down that weekend, but as I had reserved the table I was phoned and given the option to change my booking. We decided to go ahead and spent a very pleasant evening with delicious food!
