Defined by its relaxed, informal setting, The Brasserie at The Cumberland serves a menu of European classics with a distinctly British twist. Effortlessly chic, the dazzling back-lit bar is the focal point of the main dining room.
Crafted with award-winning expertise, the Brasserie menu foregrounds classic flavours with exciting modern flourishes. Sophisticated options include pan-fried haddock fillet on a poached potato with a cockle, leek and parsley casserole, and a succulent shallow-fried fillet of chicken Holstein topped with fried organic hen’s egg and served with anchovies, capers, shallots, parsley and nut brown butter. Delightfully indulgent options extend through to the dessert menu at The Brasserie restaurant in London, featuring a chocolate and hazelnut pudding with hazelnut ice cream and a warm chocolate sauce.
Brasserie afternoon tea combines delicate sandwiches, scones and cakes with exquisite Higgins Tea, while a sumptuous Sunday carvery menu offers a 3-course weekend treat. For a sophisticated drinks setting, look no further than The Brasserie’s Momentus Bar, a sultry yet elegant bar space lit by atmospheric purple lighting.
Within the luxury of The Cumberland Hotel, family-friendly dining is offered at The Brasserie in Mayfair. Marble Arch Tube Station sits a 2-minute walk away.

- Deep frozen pastries.
- Edges of the sandwiches dry
- Poor quality tea (green tea)
- Inattentive staff, did not feel welcomed
- No ambience, felt like sitting in a cantine with other tourists / guests who were having a buffet
- scons and the clotted cream were delicious
- salmon sandwiches were tasty

The waiting staff were extremely helpful, friendly and were the saving grace for our whole visit. The Brasserie has moved to a restaurant space in the basement which is large and lifeless. There was no-one else in the whole place.
We were in London for a limited time and had booked ahead to ensure we could chose the time we wanted - this was not at all what we were expecting and had we had more time we would have gone somewhere else.

We booked afternoon tea to celebrate our Gollden Wedding as 50yrs earlier this is where we’ve had spent our wedding night. was it a special experience unfortunately not the hotel has been modernised but we feel that it has lost ambience we felt like we were having tea in a canteen. The staff were polite but distant we were not given the option of a Champagne tea . The tea was served to us without being informed of what fillings were in the sandwiches and to go through details of the pastries ,as regular afternoon tea people we have come to expect this tradition. We were never asked if everything was ok or if we would like more tea etc.
The food was very nice and a good selection of pastries but just lacked that something special which we were hoping for.

The restaurant has been relocated downstairs but still provides a beautiful atmosphere. The service was wonderful; all staff were polite and understanding. The food was a lot (just right) and the teas were unlimited.

The waitress was rude and not very accommodating to my friend who has several allergies, especially towards nuts.
Macaroons are made with almond nuts if I remember correctly, we asked whether there were any alternatives to replace these. The response we got was "there's plenty of food, when you've finished then we'll see what we can change it for." Completely disregarding and unacceptable service.
The sandwiches and cakes were bog standard, nothing special at all, so for her to be so unwilling to change the macaroons were beyond me.
Definitely not coming back here again!

Afternoon Tea. I dined here with family 7 in total, this included a 4 year old. The staff were personable with a helpful and caring disposition.
The Afternoon Tea was fantastic and priced at £25 per a person, we received a lot more than we expected.
We will most definitely be going back again!

Excellent! The best afternoon tea I've ever had. Hot chocolate was available (unlike other locations I've been to) and the the scones are nice and big! (once again unlike other locations I've been too). Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff, excellent service
