The afternoon tea was delightful. I had a table overlooking the river and watched the swans. The eclair and tarts were very nice, but I particularly enjoyed the warm chocolate-chip scone, which went wonderfully with clotted cream.

Fantastic service, I called a few hours before with a special request for a personalised dessert. The staff were able to accommodate this brilliantly. Service was quick and the food was AMAZING ! I had the scallops to start which were cooked perfectly and the Basil Ghocchi for main, would recommend both dishes!

    Will definitely be returning.

We had a lovely afternoon, which was very much down to our waiter (Bennie or Bernie) who was very attentive.

We arrived to find an empty (literally) restaurant and when I gave them the name of our reservation, which had been made 2 weeks earlier, they took 3 minutes trying to find it before seating us, in an empty place! I reserved a cream tea for 3, 1 of which was gluten free which I took great pains to emphasise and also called and spoke to the Manager as I didn't want my sister who had just arrived from Canada to go without. When we ordered, they then came back minutes later and told us because of the gluten free tea, they were having to make the GF scones fresh and it would take extra time. We waited another 30 mins until the food arrived. Very nice to have fresh baked but couldn't that have been done in advance as they were aware of what we were ordering 2 weeks earlier. The setting is sublime, overlooking the Thames. The food was quite good, but scones to me should be plain and not studded with chocolate or raisins, if being served with clotted cream and jam. The pastries were ok, but on the sweet side. The finger sandwhiches went down a treat. Over all I would go back but would customize my order drastically.

Not fine dining but enough selection for us. Well presented and cooked. Staff efficient

The chefs complimentary appetiser was appalling . A cube of beetroot ( tasted like it had just been pulled from the earth )with a slice of orange on a bed of rocket . The fillet steak was over cooked and the Wren burger was definitely bought in rather than freshly made . I’ve eaten better from Iceland . It had gristle in it and was not up to standard of a 4 star hotel .
Buffet breakfast the day was not much more improved , with fries eggs that were hard and tasted like they had been cooked the day before .

I wasn’t very impressed with the dinning experience at the Sir Christopher Wren. The live music was so loud we could not talk to each other. This was very sad as we were there for my mum’s birthday. As a musician myself I was also most unimpressed by their skill level and their ‘plonk and play’ style of playing. It was most awkward when others stared asking them to turn it down as we were sitting next door.
The food was good but only at the top end of average and not what I expected from Sir Christopher Wren. The Carvery style service however, was awful. This is not what I expected from what claims to be a high end restaurant in Windsor. If I wanted a carvery I would have gone to a high street chain!
Overall, it was a most disappointing experience from what could have been an really lovely lunch looking out over the river.
