Slightly disapppointed with the service. Table not ready on our arrival. Had to wait some time before our order was taken. Also had to ask for the cream and also milk for the tea.

Eton Mess was especially delicious. We had a lovely meal with good service. Only downside was large group at the bar who were noisy

Very efficient staff, made welcome. Menu was varied and food delicious. Lovely setting with a river view. Would highly recommend and will eat there again when in the area.

This was a return visit having been previously impressed by so much - the dining view of course, the stylish décor & ambience & the eclectic menu & efficient service - all of these appeared to be there to be enjoyed.

The hotel is easy to find, parking isn’t great but recommend the station parking as just a 3 minute walk. Upon entering the front desk staff are welcoming, was shown where to go for afternoon tea and then we waited 5 minutes for a member of staff to appear, and then eventually heard staff talking hidden away so we asked to be seated. The restaurant was really quiet, the gentleman that served us was lovely and really attentive. I’m guessing his shift finished whilst we were seated as we never saw him again and no one came to check on us/our food at all. The afternoon tea was ok, bog standard and overall not that impressive, not worth the £30.00 each with service charge too. To get the bill I had to find a member of staff to get the bill. Overall very standard, expected better service in a 4* hotel. Wouldn’t return and wouldn’t recommend.

Underwhelming first visit, not special in any way, sat at a peripheral table, restaurant being made up/rearranged for the evening service and definitely would not recommend it for anything special other than wandering in off the street. Staff polite enough but distracted/unsupported and it was evident that booking a table between lunch and dinner whilst possible, wasn’t well prepared for.

The food was fantastic, the servicer by Benedito was superb. The evening was spoiled however, such that we had to leave our table and move to the lounge, due to the screaming children from the table next to us who were racing back and forth amongst the tables, screaming so loudly that we couldn't hear ourselves speaking just inches away from each other!! We spoke to the Manager who also asked the other party to mind the children, as did other parties who complained, but the parents did nothing. It's a shame as we looked forward to this weekend all year. Perhaps consider an age limit after 7pm? We would like to book again for next year and bring our partners this time, but would need to be assured that this would not happen again.

There was a waiter, Roman who spoilt our experience by making us feel uncomfortable with our 5 year old children. He was rude and offensive and he ruined our JT e with you at a family time of year.

I am very disappointed with the service on the day, restaurant almost empty but we were not looked after. It was for my sister's birthday. She asked for a second Latte coffee and we waited 10 minutes before she received a lukewarm either it was an instant or filter coffee. We were not asked if we wanted anymore food as at most afternoon teas we have had. The view of the river was lovely from the table. My sister thought we should pay the service charge but I don't think it was justified.
