Everything was lovely.
The only thing was, they kept forgetting to bring our drinks. It was third time lucky for my husband to get his beer, they bought my friends and her husbands, then mine, every time we reminded them about my husbands beer. Apart from that, it was faultless.

With beautiful views of the River Great Ouse & a large outdoor terrace, The Brampton Mill is a restored gastro pub offering a variety of hearty modern British dishes. With stone walls, fur-lined chairs & several fireplaces, the indoor bar & restaurant are a cosy setting to enjoy a traditional Sunday roast.
With chefs given the opportunity to train at cookery schools in Spain and Italy, The Brampton Mill menu features modern signature recipes made using the finest ingredients. As well as creative daily-changing specials, favourites include king prawn, crab and chorizo linguine, or spit-roasted chicken with lemon & garlic confit. A kids’ menu and Sunday roasts also feature, and desserts include rich vanilla and chocolate gelato with home-baked cookies.
The result of a treasured partnership with Rothschild wine merchants, the cellar showcases many fine wines, while token real ales and premium spirits are found at The Brampton bar. Nostalgic British nibbles and sharing platters bursting with international flavours offer more laidback dining.
The Brampton Mill is a 3-minute drive from Huntingdon Rail Station.

Service was exceptionally slow and it wasn't very busy. Food was a bit poor quality compared to previous visits.

Beautiful old mill in a lovely location let down by poor service. We booked our table of eleven for a family birthday celebration early at 6.15pm as we had an eight-year-old in our party who had school the following day. By 9.30pm we were still sat there and waiting for dessert menus to arrive (I had requested a birthday dessert for my daughter) at which point three of our party had to leave so fed up, we ended up leaving too and not ordering dessert or coffee. The food was good but the waitress was simply not attentive. She took ages to bring our menus, take our drinks orders, clear our plates etc. This was on a Tuesday evening so I can't imagine what it must be like at weekends. Service was particularly friendly and the waitress seemed disengaged, at one point chatting in the corner to another waitress as we were trying to pay our bill. It was expensive considering we didn't have dessert and a drive for us too so we won't be going back any time soon.

The main course was good and served very quickly however no warning about a very hot skillet handle used for the dessert resulting in my companion burning their hand. The oil/balsamic vinegar was served in a small jug so was difficult to get both onto the plate (just oil came out) and he bread was toasted so didn't soak up the oil/vinegar very well. We went to the bar afterwards and were approached about an hour and a half later to pay for the meal again (we had paid already).

We stood waiting for over 15 minutes for the table to be laid and because the person seating us could not be bothered to check, when we finally asked, I think it had been ready for ages. The menu has changed so hardly anything I liked. The double cooked chips were half cooked and inedible and I had already sent main back once. The fish was very nice but that's all I ate. Apart from one staff member who was lovely the rest acted like we were an inconvenience. We will not be returning.
