True to its name, The Bountiful Cow in Holborn is devoted to beef, with a menu headed by a fine range of steaks straight from Smithfield Market. A relaxed pub decorated with vintage prints, the lower floor of The Bountiful Cow hosts an open kitchen under the stewardship of eccentric head chef Roxy Beaujolais.
Whether it’s sirloin, T-bone or rib-eye, you can enjoy your steak with béarnaise sauce or with melted goat’s cheese, ‘a la Capricorn’. The coarse ground beef of the 14oz bounty burger comes with all sorts of toppings, or you could share the Bountiful Cow steakboard, with prawns, onion rings and tankards of chips.
Away from the beef, there are chicken club sandwiches, chargrilled sea bream and homemade sausage and mash, with lemony Greek salad and artichoke linguine among vegetarian choices. Belgian apple tart and crème brûlée give dessert time a continental touch.
Serving a range of flavourful world wines, The Bountiful Cow is a characterful London destination to enjoy the finest beef in town. A 3-minute walk from Holborn Tube Station, The Bountiful Cow restaurant is on Eagle Street, just off Red Lion Square.

I am a regular here, it was as good as ever, steaks as good as anywhere in London, quirky but comfortable surroundings, friendly service. Always excellent value; exceptional with the special offer. Recommend the T-bone steak if you have room; otherwise all are delicious. Garlic prawn starter. Mushrooms extra side. I rarely vary this combination and rarely wish to!

Great steaks and service with good jazz music. Disappointed that we were not able to sit closer to the musicians as it was difficult to hear them at times over all the chatter in the room.

Food was superb, service was slow, beer, cider, wine & soft drinks menu only (no cocktails - more of a pub/steak house vibe) unattractive views due to location but convenient to get to. Pricy but made the most of a 25% off food bookatable deal.

The whole experience was delightful. The atmosphere in the restaurant was very nice and the lady waiting on table was a delight. We had been let down by a well known chain of restaurants and I found this place on the internet. We are a group of older motorcyclists from all over the country who join up on tours about 4 times a year. We always meet up at this time of year in London. We will definately return here. We all had a great meal at a very reasonable price in very nice surroundings.

Full range of steaks and some other choices. Reasonable value and very pleasant atmosphere. Food very good and cooked exactly as requested.
