A highly individual town pub in Horsham, The Black Jug comes from award-winning pub group, Brunning & Price. A beautifully tropical conservatory area and al fresco patio partner the building's rustic interior, a relaxed setting for refined gastro pub cuisine.

Sophisticated British options on The Black Jug menu include a grilled whole plaice with lemon butter, green vegetables and new potatoes, and a Jerusalem artichoke, chestnut and spinach pie with cheddar crumb, buttered kale and thyme jus. There’s also a spiced Malaysian fish stew and Mediterranean-style hot lamb salad, while a chicken, ham and leek pudding caters for traditional tastes.

Sophisticated wines partner smooth cask ales at The Black Jug in Horsham, which dates back to Victorian times. A greenhouse-style conservatory opens out onto the pretty al fresco patio, while inside tightly-packed antique bookcases lie beside a majestic stone fireplace.

The Black Jug is just a 5-minute walk up North Street from Horsham Station, and backs onto Horsham Park.

Was sceptical as to whether or not the booking was real but there should hot have been any worries. A table was identified with my name and the time of our arrival.
We had all visited the Black Jug before, so the execellent service and food was no surprise to us. It was particularly nice that a jug of iced water arrived without being asked,ma good touch!

Its a long way for us and only used for special occassion when visiting driends in the area, but I cannot wait for my next visit.

We had a lovely meal in the conservatory. We sat out in the garden first and then moved indoors The ice creams (ginger, salted caramel and coconut) were delicious and the grilled plaice perfectly cooked. The only thing was that we were sitting under the ceiling fan, and with the sunshine it was like being under a strobe light - we all shuffled along as it was starting to affect our eyes!

Service a little slow, though friendly, as we weren't given menus to look at until we'd ordered drinks. We arrived at 12.30 and didn't eat until gone 1.45 pm. Lovely pub. Nice food.

A work lunch for three. The food and the service could not be faulted, unfortunately next to us was a large gathering which meant the noise level was very high.

Really enjoyed the meal - very friendly staff. Requested a particular table and this was granted

Lovely Sunday roast. We have large appetites and were not disappointed. We opted for the beef and pork combination! £16.95. Beef not to my particular taste as a bit pink and therefore chewy. Pork excellent. Staff very friendly and cheerful. We have been to the black jug regularly over many years. Consistently good.
