I found this excellent pub and food experience as one of the few takeaways open during the early days of the lockdown. It was superb food then and even better now that we can safely eat within this lovely pub. Excellent food and ambience with a very friendly service. The best and highest quality fish and chips around! Very efficiently run and sensitively managed by Simon and his great team. Thank you, returning very soon.

Excellent service and well spaced out- we sat in the garden in the evening. Our main courses were both great, we shared breads to start which were very tasty and particularly enjoyed the bottle of white wine we had as well.

The food was very good. The duck for the duck salad was a little too sweet for me, but my friend liked it, and it was a very interesting dish. Excellent arancini!!! They now have pudding wine on the menu, which is great. Please bring back sticky toffee pudding on the menu!

We had a wonderful time at the Black boy. It was mum son’s birthday and they kindly brought the cake and lit the candle for us

The service was very slow. though the food -- when it eventually arrived -- was good. We sat in the restaurant area, away from the bar and the "action," and it seemed as if we'd been forgotten.
