Good food. Excellent service. Only criticism was that it got quite warm as the evening wore on could do with some air conditioning.

Perfect pub grub but with a twist. Not cheap but not overpriced in my opinion. Didn’t feel rushed. Service not yet quite there yet and it was obvious staff we had were not that experienced I.e we had to ask for wine list and water, used glasses not cleared away and generally not yet ‘on’ it - but am sure it will come with time if a bit more investment in training the waiting staff.

First impressions, the refurb is suberb, modern, warm, welcoming and great artwork. Staff very friendly but the service throughout was rather disjointed, a little bit all over the place. We arrived at 7.00 for drinks, table booked 7.30. At 7.55 still waiting to go through or look at menu's. Seated we waited again without drinks and had to ask to order after waiting a while. We ordered wine, reasonably priced and water. Two waiters brought two lots of water instead of leaving Katie to get on with managing our table. By 9pm we hadn't eaten anything. It's nice not to be rushed but this was a little extreme and the restaurant wasn't full. Potted duck with pickles and toast was ok, just shredded duck, small gherkins and rather hard sourdough toast. Had to ask for butter. The cheese scones with smoke bacon and sage butter were apparently delicious. For main course I had roast lamb, giant cous cous salad (warm) Harissa yogurt and flat bread and a side of skinny fries. This was delicious, cooked to perfection, something a little different! The others all went for burgers with triple cooked chips. All main dishes were very good. The sweets were nothing out of the ordinary Sticky Toffee Pudding then three very creamy desserts Pannacotta, Creme Brulee, Lemon Posset. I can't eat a lot of creamy dairy so that was a no no for me. So something not so rich would be welcomed. As Matt was a finalist in Masterchef I was expecting a menu that would offer some originality and wow factor. Even homemade pickled vegetables with the duck rather than box standard gherkins and we all felt the duck lacked another flavour or addition to compliment it. We liked the restaurant and would really like to go back in the future but feel the menu and service needs more development at this stage. For that reason I would probably say No to recommending to a friend at the current time. Come on Matt we want it to be great, it's on our doorstep, we want to become regulars give it some Masterchef wow factor.

Poor starter, Caesar salad dressing bland. Good chorizo starter. Mains, beef excellent colour and texture but tasteless, chicken ok. Yorkshire pud terrible, tiny, raw inside and cold. Best side the broccoli with cheese sauce but a tiny bowl between 4, less than a desert spoon each. Puddings fine. Starters arrived before drinks !

Good food, we were a bit rushed off our table due to it been busy. I don't really like to be charged extra for potatoes and veg. Would have preferred the price of the meal to include it.

Loved the surroundings and the atmosphere. The serving staff were great nothing was too much trouble, they even had personalities!! My only complaint was the food which would have been nicer if it was hot as opposed to warm. Will try again though
