Awarded 2 AA Rosettes over 9 years, The Bay Restaurant in Penzance enjoys panoramic sea views across to St Michael’s Mount and the scenic old town. Enjoy locally-made wine and cider on the Bay Restaurant terrace, perfect for al fresco dining.

The Bay Restaurant menu offers all-day dining, with farmhouse breakfast and light brunch dishes served each morning. The coastal views make a romantic backdrop for pan-fried beef fillet to share, monkfish medallions, grilled red mullet, or The Bay's delightful West Country afternoon tea.

Speciality dishes use the best shellfish from the local market, with luxurious lobster thermidor or steamed lobster with linguine. Artisinal Cornish cheese, warm almond pudding or prune crème brûlée are accompanied by a fine selection of dessert wines.

The Bay is happy to make special arrangements for celebrations. Penzance Train Station is a 7-minute walk from The Bay Restaurant on Britons Hill.

Some very different and tastysy accompaniments to the mains course, in particular a black pudding puree that was served with chicken that my husband thought was ideal also with his lamb dish.

Great food, wine, space and service.. not bad value either! The lamb "cassoulet" was delicious as was the prawn starter. Cheese which can often be boring was a delight for the taste buds. I would like to give 5 stars but only give 4 because I like to think there is even better to come! Thank you.

Booked this venue for my fathers 90th birthday treat. I must say that this is a great place to have an afternoon tea. Great views over mounts bay.

The steaks had a sauce on them which didn’t taste nice. The chips tasted like they’d been sat there for a while and it all went cold quickly. For a £60 meal it was very disappointing and not value for money. The breakfasts were lovely though. Afternoon tea was also lovely.

Lovely evening including a nice touch of free Prosecco as a birthday month loyalty card holder as well as the discount. Excellent food and service. Another point worth mentioning is that side dish portion size is substantial which is not always the case at other restaurants. We also like the new chairs - very comfortable. Thank you for a great evening.

Excellent food, well presented. Friendly and amenable dining room staff. But I would have expected a change of dinner menu over my 5day stay.

Afternoon Indulgence Tea for Two - Excellent, impressive dining area. Choice of sandwich fillings and bread, also varied selection of five small cakes plus scone, jam and clotted cream served with tea/coffee. Superb views and excellent courteous service. Great value. Very highly recommended 5*+.

Very friendly and attentive waitress who brought us our drinks before we sat down in the dining room. We thought the prices were on the high side for what we had. I had the steak which was a bit on the chewy side, the French fries were good though. Object to paying for extra veg. Thought the menu a bit limited. The place itself was very acceptable, but they need to improve the food, prices and menu.
