An exceptional restaurant attached to the 2* michelin restaurant Moor Hall, it really does deserve it's own star. The staff are attentive without being intrusive, setting is beautiful and food is outstanding. And all at a fantastically reasonable price.

Excellent food, a slightly larger menu selection would be a bonus. Great to see the open kitchen, nice calm, efficient atmosphere. Will definitely go again.

Food was excellent and the staff helpful and courteous I felt the drinks were disappointing- my cocktail tasted overly sweet and layered-maybe not mixed -my coffee liqueur like my sons was also disappointing. Neither of us finished them.

Starters all delicious - Risotto and parsnip purée. Mains - we had pheasant. The first pheasant we got - 2 had to be sent back it was very chewy/tough to eat and the skin wasn’t crispy. I was told the skin wasn’t meant to be crispy because of the way it is cooked, it was a layer of fat you couldn’t eat so why serve it ? Seems a bit strange. The meat itself on the second attempt was better but still not great. I’ve eaten pheasant a few times and this was my least favourite time of eating it. Also when our food was sent back there was chips and carrots on there ( which we had ordered and paid for separately) when the dishes came back out there was no fresh side vegetables. We didn’t say anything because we didn’t want to cause a fuss but it’s attention to detail like that you would expect from Moor Hall. Also, when the dishes were sent back you could see the chefs looking over at our table and some kind of unhappy response to the FOH staff which, as your chefs are in an open kitchen as you can imagine, doesn’t feel great as a customer. All in all the meal was just a bit disappointing. We had been to Moor hall previously and with a new baby thought the Barn being more relaxed would be a more suitable venue this time. Based on this experience we wouldn’t return to the Barn.

A fantastic dinner. Every course was exceptional if they aren’t careful this will get a Michelin star like the two next door!
