Superb setting. The sun was shining so a drink outside was in order then into the cool of the Barn for lunch. Food excellent. The duck confit was delicious.

This restaurant is fantastic. I treated my sister and brother in law to Sunday lunch and it was superb. And the staff are lovely too.

Wonderful food, lovely atmosphere, gorgeous setting, knowledgable staff, extremely reasonably priced for the calibre of the food and drink. Will return.

A birthday treat for myself and my wife, very simple to book and a reminder to confirm booking a couple of days before. Booked for 2pm lunch and was given a fabulous table in a wonderful window overlooking the grounds and lake. The meal was wonderful with portions that don't overtake you but fill you up. Very artistic presentation and the Tiramasu with marscapone is to die for. Couldn't fault in any department. A wonderful experience which was a late Christmas present from family.

My partner and I have eaten at various high end restaurants throughout the UK for many years and feel experienced enough to make a fair and honest review.
We were looking forward to our visit as the informative website had convinced us we were about to enjoy a pleasant evening and a delicious meal.
Moor Hall is in an undeniably lovely setting.. We ate in The Barn, which is a stylish wood floored bistro-type establishment.
Off to a great start as my starter of smoked salmon looked a picture, but tasted good only in parts.
My main was a £37 fillet steak which was fine and cooked as I had asked; sadly the green beans were hot but raw, our fault for not asking for them to be cooked through, however the carrots were delicious.
My desert was a lemon tart with a gin & tonic sorbet; the tart slice was tiny and the sorbet almost laughably small; sitting as they did on a plain plate with neither coulis or berries or any sort of attempt to beautify the desert, it looked underwhelming - sadly the tart had little flavour although the sorbet was very tasty.
My partner’s soup was not hot: his duck main consisted of 4 tiny slices and his peach desert enjoyable.

To round up, I would say it was a good meal, but it should have been an excellent meal, if it was to live up to its credentials and price. Certainly, and sadly, not worth a return visit.

Fabulous! We had the roast beef dinner which was delicious, cooked to perfection and the Yorkshire puddings were amazing

Lovely location, looks impressive as you approach the Barn - might be a different story if it’s raining as a short walk from the car park. Impressive inside as you enter the restaurant from the stairs and a friendly welcome. All staff very friendly and service was excellent - food couldn’t be faulted, enough choice, very well prepared, presented and good value. Overall a very pleasant Sunday lunch with one small criticism - we happened to be seated next to the pianist and as good as he was, it was difficult to hold a conversation being so close. Perhaps a table further away would be a better choice next time.

Superb relaxed Sunday lunch at The Barn, Moor Hall. Interesting starters followed by traditional roast dinner, nice take on a Yorkshire pudding and great roasties. The lemon tart with gin and tonic sorbet was the star of the day, super thin pastry and light pie filling with an almost creme brûlée top, we will definitely be back.

The quality of food and service matched the location which is stupendous .
The lunchtime menu is great value for money and the chicken liver pate was to die for.

The surrounding both inside and out were very good but please water the taxus hedge. We were made to feel welcome from the outset and the pace for serving was just right. We really enjoyed the food, presentation was outstanding no issues there. The only minor issue the cost of drinks, but hey ho an excellent evening well done to all the staff and the pianist.
