Formerly a watering hole for the workers who built The Grand Union Canal, The Barge showcases a typically British menu loaded with innovative nuances. Log fires and chunky oak furnishing punctuates The Barge dining area, whilst a leafy beer garden caters for al fresco dining.

Hearty Sunday roasts and trusty British dishes head The Barge Woolstone menu, and a range just for kids offers mini versions of pub favourites. Signature Vintage pies offer fillings like beef & merlot with buttered peas, while The Barge ‘Vintage classics’ menu includes lemon & garlic-roasted chicken with seasoned chips.

Paying homage to the Great British pub, the Vintage Inn bar stock includes cask-conditioned beers, real ales and a meticulously compiled wine list. Thirst-quenching offerings include seasonal non-alcoholic cocktails and freshly-pressed juices, and rich coffee is brewed freshly throughout the day.

The Barge in Milton Keynes is a 6-minute drive to the enchanting Willen Lakeside Park, whilst Milton Keynes Central Rail Station is a 9-minute drive away.

Service was far to slow. We had to wait over 2 hours before our order was taken, even though we asked on several occasions.
My beef was tough on the roast dinner. I think that my family would have left if it hadn’t been for my birthday and I didn’t want to make a fuss

Excellent meal with very good service. Blue cheese fondue starter was delicious & enough for 2 to share!
Husband had the sausages with bubble & squeak on special menu - very tasty & very filling.
I had ham, egg & chips - superb chips & very tasty ham. Glad I had choice of small plate with just one egg as very generous portions.

We had the Mothers day menu and overall the food was acceptable.
Not the same since the previous landlord left.

Lovely atmosphere - really cosy. Friendly staff. Good choice on menu - I had 7oz beef burger (without the bun) - well cooked & tasty. Great chips. Friends had vegetarian burger which was also tasty & couscous salad which was proclaimed 'delicious - really tasty & not too spicy'. Had creme brûlée for dessert - had better but very tasty as with peach & raspberries. Hot drinks were delayed so not charged for them which was very good.

Good food, good service, good value, friendly staff. Nice friendly country pub. We visit around new year each year as it is useful meeting point between our home and relative in London.
