Slow - food took 2 hours to arrive, when it did arrive they missed off an order, giving it to another diner.

Welcomed by a lovely lady Phillipa, seated and drinks order taken. Ordered food which took ages to come, 45 mins, (restaurant was not to busy !). I has to ask for progress on order it was that long. Food was OK but no but portion size varied vastly. Sea bass was superb with plenty of sides. On the other hand the Rump steak was over cooked, 8 chips and what can only be described as small onion fritter. Not to impressed. Sweet again took ages to arrive. Trifle was best ever, platter of sweets was good, whereas the apple pie was poor, with runny custard in a minute jug. Overall I would say, service good, food very average, restaurant ok. Drinks selection good. Gentle men's toilets was awash with wet floor, no very nice.

I am afraid we had a disappointing meal. The roast platter was disappointing. The meat was shrivelled up and appeared as if it had been reheated after it was cooked. The edges were shrivelled up and burnt. We dine out at least once week throughout Leicestershire. Members of staff were very welcoming and the the service was good. However the quality of the food spoiled our experience. As mentioned in the Vintage inn survey I would happy to pay around 30 to 40 pound a head in a gastro pub as a long as the food is good.

Excellent food overall though the Wagyu burger was a disappointment . Great service . The only downside was that the Sunday roasts were not available but we were dining at 7.30 so not surprised. The fact that it serves a good variety on the menu on a Sunday is a bonus.

We took two friends who had not been To Badger Sett before and the setting impressed them .We go fairly frequently so we knew that there is a good menu .We all thoroughly enjoyed our evening. The service was very good the waiter attentive and good food that's all one can ask for..Our friends want to come again.

The venue was very pleasant, most of our party arrived early and were shown to the table only to be informed that our drinks order wouldn't be taken until the whole party was assembled. We were thirsty so decided to access the bar ourselves, which wasn't an issue and the drinks were put on the table tab. When the food was eventually ordered, two of the three special that we ordered, we were informed were now off the menu or they had insufficient quantities to satisfy our demand. Eventually we were able to find dishes for all of us that were available and the order was placed. Sharing starters and mains for each person. Whilst we had plenty to talk about, it was noticed that the time taken to serve the ordered dishes was quite long, and even some extra drinks took longer than one would have hoped. When the food did arrive it was delicious, hot and very tasty as well as filling. So overall the whole experience was unfortunately marred by the lack of first choice dishes and the length of time to be served, which could easily have been alleviated by just one extra waiter. The restaurant whilst busy wasn't full to capacity so it wasn't easy to see what was the cause of the delays, and sitting with three former waiters perhaps didn't particularly help!

Last night was a difficult night. Hottest day of year. Not enough staff. Having to wait 45 mins+ for meals. When arrived food was as good as usual although other diners food was cool. Staff were very apologetic.

We had a lovely meal which was good value and the waitress was very nice. They forgot my choc pot but when I queried it I was given it to take home.
