Restaurant description

Beneath a 7-storey glass atrium, Cast Iron at London Marriott Hotel Kensington is inspired by the modern British steak house.

Championing the finest seasonal ingredients, the Cast Iron Grill menu blends classic flavour combinations with tried-and-tested cooking methods, with a range spanning from lighter bites, to hearty mains. Trusty favourites include the signature hand-pressed burger, while globe-trotting recipes include the Odeiga-spiced chicken hoagie, and charred cauliflower tabbouleh.

Juicy, 28-day-aged cuts of premium British beef lead the impressive range of steaks and grills, and Cast Iron’s toffee & ginger skillet pudding offers an indulgent conclusion. Hand-picked wines are sourced from across the globe, and a list of heady cocktails includes mixes like the Old Cuban, and a pink-hued G&T.

Earls Court Tube Station is a 6-minute walk from Cast Iron Bar & Grill, while the shops of Kensington High Street are within a 10-minute walk.

There was an issue on the booking, they did not expect us before 3 even though the booking clearly stated 2pm. The rest was really good, they managed all our food requirements very well

Very disappointing dining experience. We had booked the 2 course lunch with free flowing bubbles. We were the only two diners in the restaurant so therefore it lacked atmosphere. Service was slow and the bubbles were not that free flowing. We were still eating our main course and we were told we have to choose a desert as the kitchen was closing. We were also asked to pay the bill while we were still eating our main course! No one took our plates away at the end of the meal. Food was very average and we won't return here again.

Service was excellent - really friendly, professional and helpful staff. Food was delicious and we enjoyed the deal there, bottomless prosecco with a 2 or 3 course meal. We were seated on a table next to the window so you can enjoy the nice view as well. Overall it was lovely experience

Had dinner in the Atrium restaurant few weeks back. Was special occasion as I was meeting a good friend after long time. The food was great and staff very attentive. If I come back in the area will definitely choose for dinner.

Excellent food; very good service; overall pricing fair but charging extra for the bread / butter and the sauce for the steak ( despite being listed on the menu) is outrageous and possibly explains why the restaurant was virtually empty.

Well it's the worst experience I ever had sitting in Kensington . The food ..steak was so bad and , salad was rusty and off, chips had been cooked in oil that was probably a year old ! And second lot of chips were oven chips.. The peppercorn suave to be served out of small butter bowl and charge£2:50 a portion , which is less than table spoon full. Well our over all experience of staff was -1 , food,-1, ambience -1 and no it's not a place to recommend . My husband had his worst FATHERS DAY. No thanks to Marriott !

I took a friend for a belated birthday meal, as I was quite impressed with the online menu. We went for an evening meal at about 7pm and the atmosphere was quite "serene", due to the fact that we were one of two couples in the whole restaurant...the whole evening. The service was terrible and every order had to be repeated for the waiter to understand us. Before both the main course and dessert we said that we're not ready to order and for some reason they assumed we didn't want to order and attempted to take our menus. The waiter was also rather baffled when I ordered Martell cognac (common product in the UK) and I had to point it out in the wine list. I was then told that the bar is out of stock and was offered a cognac that wasn't on the menu... I ordered the porterhouse steak with creamy spinach and the spinach was the highlight of the evening. The meat was rather disappointing and not worth the price. The fries were also of poor quality. The spinach was good indeed and also a very good portion for its price. Bottom line - I will not eat at this restaurant again or recommend it to anyone.
