This was a booking made for my wife's birthday. She especially wanted afternoon tea at the Angle as she had never been there before. The experience was excellent from start to finish. The staff were welcoming and the menu explained. The food was excellent and well presented by the waitress. We were regularly asked by the staff if everything was to our satisfaction (which it was).
It was the hottest day of the year, and we ware sat in the restaurant at a table for two at an open window overlooking the cathedral gate. It could not have been better!

It was delicious, the sandwiches were perfect, the cream cakes were to die for. Would recommend it and I would definitely go again.

Our cream tea was absolutely stunning. Cannot fault anything about our experience. Due to the World Cup quarter finals, we asked to change our booking time. All staff were very accommodating and arranged this for us. We then watched the game in the green room, with table service delivering our pimms!
A huge thank you to Ashley (Bar Manager) for being so helpful and accommodating. Lovely to have a gorgeous man with an brilliant sense of humour!

Highly recommended and we will definitely return!

A very enjoyable experience. Although the hotel was busy with a wedding reception after a bit of a wait for our drinks the service was excellent, and the food was delicious, although perhaps slightly too much salt on the cod. Breakfast too was good, with prompt service, and well cooked food. Thank you to the staff for their friendly and helpful manner.

I had afternoon tea here with my wife for our wedding anniversary but was left disappointed by the low level of service for a venue like this. We waited 15 minutes before anyone came to our table to take our tea selection order and were forgotten about once the afternoon tea eventually arrived. The quality of the food was very good but all was let down by the level of service unfortunately.

Overall we had a lovely meal as you were aware it was our wedding breakfast. Unfortunately my husband ordered the mussel dish and the chef should have been aware that only one third of the portion had opened. When the plates were collected surely the waiter should have noticed them as I am sure u aww aware closed mussells are not good to eat.
The hotel is lovely a great ambience but spoiled a little by the main, which was a little upsetting my husband did not say anything as he did not want to cause a fuss on our special day.

We elected to have our post wedding meal here. The service was erratic and the food was not of the standard I would expect of such a highly regarded hotel. My now wife's main course was under cooked and the response was to just cook it a little bit more and return the plate with cold remains. We will not be returning and will not recommend this hotel to any friends. Frankly for such a large bill I would have expected some recompense but just received a smile and a shrug of the shoulders. We can accept this in other parts of the world but not in the Angel Hotel of which we had such high expectations.
