Much more than a standard London restaurant, The Abingdon pairs modern, eclectic style with beautifully presented European dishes. The eye-catching U-shaped bar is a chic spot for counter dining, with a celebrated wine list featuring organic and biodynamic vintages on offer.

Always innovative and showcasing the finest seasonal ingredients from local suppliers, the Abingdon menu is full of modern European delicacies. Starters like the cheddar & spinach soufflé with wild mushroom ragout are beautifully presented, while fresh seafood recipes are also on offer with a seasonal twist. In addition, there are sharing specialities such as pave steak for 2, and all kinds of premium sides.

The inventive recipes continue for dessert at The Abingdon in Kensington. The Abingdon is also known for its carefully crafted wine list, with bottles from the old and new worlds represented.

An inventive, wonderfully executed update on the modern gastropub, The Abingdon also has a small al fresco seating area at the front. Gloucester Road Tube Station is a 4-minute drive away.

We loved everything about the Abingdon . The ambience was lovely. The barman Luigi Very Kindly secured us a booth . Our waiter Adrian was delightful as was the waitress I think her name was Emma ( they are an asset to the Abingdon. We were booked for Sunday lunch , three of us had the beef which was served pink and was beautifully tender , my daughter had fish which was equally delicious. My son and I then indulged in the sticky toffee pudding which I reluctantly admit was better than mine and mine is v good ! We loved the cozy atmosphere and infact having eaten at a Michelin starred restaurant the previous evening we all agreed the Abingdon experience was the winner . Will definitely return next time we are in London

We love this place, even though it resembles a pub, the dining area offers truly gourmet dishes. Our favourite is the cod with butter beans, fennel and black aioli (we love fish). Their soups are outstanding, last time we had celeriac soup, it was “out of this world”, especially at this time of year. Plus the English classic Sticky Toffee pudding - heavenly.
The bar area has comfortable couches and coffee table and is usually full of local residents.
Great atmosphere! Abingdon just had its 20th birthday! Great achievement despite not the main street location.

Excellent meal and great service by friendly staff
    Everything we ordered was delicious.
Wonderful steak and a sublime, melt-in-mouth sticky toffee pudding.
Short well-chosen wine list, with reasonably priced wines.
    We shall be back soon.

Sunday lunch at the Abingdon is as good now as it was when I went regularly with my family some years ago. Great service, wonderful Sunday roast and very good house wine.
