Much more than a standard London restaurant, The Abingdon pairs modern, eclectic style with beautifully presented European dishes. The eye-catching U-shaped bar is a chic spot for counter dining, with a celebrated wine list featuring organic and biodynamic vintages on offer.

Always innovative and showcasing the finest seasonal ingredients from local suppliers, the Abingdon menu is full of modern European delicacies. Starters like the cheddar & spinach soufflé with wild mushroom ragout are beautifully presented, while fresh seafood recipes are also on offer with a seasonal twist. In addition, there are sharing specialities such as pave steak for 2, and all kinds of premium sides.

The inventive recipes continue for dessert at The Abingdon in Kensington. The Abingdon is also known for its carefully crafted wine list, with bottles from the old and new worlds represented.

An inventive, wonderfully executed update on the modern gastropub, The Abingdon also has a small al fresco seating area at the front. Gloucester Road Tube Station is a 4-minute drive away.

I've been here three times and every visit is wonderful. The tuna tartare and mushroom souffle are the best.

Delicious, lovely service. High quality experience and elegant.
The main on the set menu for lunch wasn’t appealing though for non meat eaters - starter sounded great but a lot of vegetarians would struggle with moules frites as it’s not very healthy. We would have liked the set menu but went a la carte due to this.

Loved the new starter menu, could have chosen any of them. We had the cheese and spinach soufflé, which was divine, the tuna tartare with avocado purée (hint of chilli) - delicious and the grilled haloumi salad - very good. Our mains were the ballotine of chicken which was absolutely delicious, I spit of my misgivings about being cooked sous vide before frying; and the pork chop - really tasty.
Service excellent but laid back as usual. House wines very good. My only suggestion is that the cheapest rose was £34, which seemed a bit steep. And a lot of the wines are pretty expensive for what they are.

We really enjoyed our lunch. Food and service were both excellent. It's nice to have a really good "gastropub" in the neighborhood.
