Excellent set lunch with Icelandic and Asian-inspired ingredients. Many dishes have healthy ingredients, and the wine was great too.

I was a bit disappointed after the meal, even if the food was well presented and cooked i did not feel it was surprisng at all as far as creativity and flavour are concerned. I felt the restaurant was overrated. Furthermore we ordered a cheese selection, when it came there were only two cheeses in the dish, with nothing special about them, it is not worth it for 17,50 pounds that the dish costs.

The quick version: good food and drink, mediocre service. We had the Christmas set menu (without wine pairing) and enjoyed every bit of it. Herring & akvavit, salmon, and suckling pig & crab were all exceptionally prepared and presented. The deer was good but we found ourselves wishing it was fall-apart-in-your-mouth-tender instead of closer to well-done. Ambiance was good, with plenty of room between tables and a nicely lit atmosphere. The champagne bar was just us, the bartender, and the crickets, although we did get some very nice pre-dinner mixed drinks (compliments to the friendly bartender!). Sadly the service diminished the experience quite a bit, with servers who could not always describe food clearly, and a hostess who shuffled us off to the bar while an available table was being prepared, only to find out when we inquired 40 minutes after our reservation time and a round of drinks that they were, apparently, waiting for us! I'm not usually one to leave this sort of feedback, but for £200+ per person I'm much less shy about flatly stating that staff with a stronger command of English would have easily avoided that misunderstanding and been able to offer an all around better experience throughout. Michelin ratings are supposed to be about the food alone, however, and this place certainly deserves its star!
