Restaurant description

Sandwiched between the historic Brighton Lanes, 2 AA Rosette-awarded vegetarian restaurant Terre a Terre is one of the town's most popular dining venues. Awarded a prestigious Michelin Bib Gourmand, Terre a Terre has garnered favourable reviews from Hardens and The Good Food Guide and caters for al fresco dining with a suntrap terrace.

Highly recommended by the press, Terre a Terre is a regular feature in the Observer Food awards. The creative and playful approach to vegetarian cuisine at Terre a Terre ensures that the menu showcases an exotic and innovative selection of dishes.

Deep fried corn cakes rolled in spice dust lead the Terre a Terre menu, accompanied by chilli jelly, avocado hash and lime mojo, while a fried sandwich crammed with mozzarella, pine nut butter and tomato and capsicum jam head the main courses, paired with ratatouille and bloody mary gel. This inventive take on vegetarian cuisine is accompanied by a wide range of organic wines, beers and ciders. Children are welcome at Terre a Terre and have their own wholesome menu to choose from. Vegan and gluten-free options can be served on prior request.

Just a three-minute walk from Brighton Pier and the sea-front, and easily accessible from Brighton Dome, Terre a Terre in East Sussex is a 7-minute walk from Brighton Sea Life Centre.

Have always enjoyed Terre a Terre but haven't been for a view years because of moving round the country. Having gone more into vegan and vegetarian lately we decided to return and try lunch. The staff were lovely, friendly and helpful. We shared a cheese fondant to begin which was very rich and yummy. For our mains we shared the mixed platter with chips on the side. Although it was good it was not as good as I remember from past meals we have had there. Your chips were okay but not so chunky and crispy on the outside with soft centre like before and although the garlic mayo was nice we used to enjoy the original babaganoush that was served with them but they were still good. We did however really enjoy trying your mixed plate of dishes. I know with the virus going on things are difficult and you have to limit your menu but I hope when things improve you will bring back some of the dishes from the past such as the sweetcorn fritters with avocado and the mushrooms in a turret of pastry with a red wine jus. We will be back of course as your food is always lovely and something I wouldn't do with such care and preparation at home.

Superb food as always - Having not been for a couple of years it was nice to see an extensively refreshed and delicious menu but still with a few firm favourites on there! Superb friendly service and lovely wine! We will be back soon...

Lovely restaurant and staff. With a vegan, a vegetarian and 2 meat eaters we were interested to see what they had. I had the better batter which was lovely and also very filling. Big portions and lovely taste. I suspect that I’m going to start getting cravings and have to go back! Thank the Lord they have good caffeinated coffee too!
