This is a hidden gem - light bright restaurant, delicious fresh food, the best brownie I have ever tasted and attentive kind staff. We will be back again.

I thought the location was really great
Disappointed as I thought I had booked a breakfast/brunch slot - I thought the menu was poor and the food not that great
I think this would be ok for a coffee but would not recommend it for lunch

Very disappointing. Booked for a late lunch with friends who'd bothered to come to London especially to meet up. Almost everything on the menu was off (including all pizzas and all sandwiches), so we ended up with very little choice. Food was just about okay. Had a salad, but had to ask for some dressing as it was dry and fairly bland. Pudding (i.e., cake) options equally limited. An alternative was brought for one of our choices without us even being asked. Staff were pleasant, though. With so many other restaurants in the area, I regretted choosing this one. A shame, because it's a lovely airy venue, with great views of surrounding buildings, and a nice place to sit and chat.

We were shown courteously to our table, and chose the dish of the day, slow roast lamb with Yorkshire pudding and vegetables. Oh dear. The lamb was almost too tough to cut. Slow roasted lamb should just fall into pieces. And Yorkshire pudding with lamb? No green vegetable? In the end we sent it back and asked for soup and sandwiches. The soups were fine, but my sandwich (salmon and capers) was on what seemed like an uncooked pizza base, impossible to eat. We had free coffee to make up for the disappointing lamb, and the staff were very helpful, but we were served by 6 different people by the end and we felt the organisation of the waiters was somewhat haphazard. The food was not as good as it should have been. A disappointment on a rare visit to London.

The service was unbelievably slow, many items on the menu were no longer available, including some sandwiches, which surely could have been made for us. The food was poor and we left much of it uneaten, especially the salads. Different items arrived at different times so we were not eating our meals together. The 'arctic bread' was too hard to cut with a knife. Truly this was one of the worst meals we have experienced in a restaurant. Staff were apologetic about the wait and the manager was clearly embarrassed.

I was very disappointed in the service and menu at the Terrace. My expectations were for a good lunch. Instead, the menu had items which seem a bit to off-center. I ordered a salad and it did not match the description at all. The service was slow, not helpful. He clearly did not like his job, nor did he have any idea of what was on the menu. There are other spots to dine in the British Library...use those!

Lovely views , etc, but my smoked salmon and salad on a crisp bread was very poor. There were about 4 twigs of rocket, and what would have been half a leaf of lettuce, chopped very small, to give a bit of colour. The crispbread was so tough (slightly soggy) that my knife wasn’t sharp enough. I was still hungry after eating it.
