Restaurant description

Specialising in wood-fired meats, day-boat fish and signature corn tacos, temper Covent Garden is one of London’s most exciting barbecue restaurants, championing 'whole animal' cooking to minimise wastage. The rustic wood oven sits in the centre of the open kitchen, and is offset by cool, contemporary design and a grey & cobalt blue colour palette.

Offsetting its time-honoured cooking methods, the temper menu embraces innovation with its recipes and flavour combinations. Enjoy succulent beef skewers with kimchi or porchetta & almond mole from the grill, or taco fillings like goat, and soft shell crab.

The open kitchen at temper restaurant in London is surrounded by counter-style seating: offering full views of the chefs in action. There is also a carefully compiled list of world wines, beers and playful house cocktail concoctions.

Tucked away off the main throng on the quiet Mercer Walk, temper Covent Garden also boasts an outdoor terrace for relaxed summertime dining. Covent Garden Tube Station is a 2-minute walk away.

Dishes displayed on a la carte menus are representative of the type of food available at the restaurant.

I’ve been to the temper soho which was fantastic - couldn’t fault it. This one however was a real disappointment. Slow service (albeit the waiter was very friendly, but wasn’t able to be attentive), some of the food arrived luke warm and the steak was chewy and not nice. For the price it was really dissatisfactory and I will not be visiting again.

Unfortunately wasn't as good as expected, we saw 'bottomless BBQ' and thought wow, should have read the reviews before booking. Food was a little disappointing though the Burger was very tasty this is all I ate with a handful of chips, gave my husband the 2 chicken pieces and the couple of slices of sausage, only one choice of white wine and red, we did ask if we could maybe pay some more and upgrade to Prosecco but were told no. Would I go again? no would I recommend ? sadly no Waitress was friendly !

Food was really good but the service we received was terrible. It was super slow especially when trying to get the bill. Would only recommend on a quiet evening.

Excellent! Bottomless meat platter was tasty and the bottomless drink menu included wine, beer and an array of cocktails! Great value for money and will definitely be booking again!

We went for the bottomless brunch deal which was a disaster. The service is terrible, we waited over 40 minutes for our first serving of food or a drink. After that we had to constantly ask for more drinks and wait around 20 mins each time. Food was very basic and overpriced.

The service was really slow here and we were constantly forgotten about - certainly didn't live up to the bottomless name! I think it took about 20 minutes to get our first drink The burgers were nice but the chicken and sausages on the platter were pretty bland. I wouldn't go back.

We went for the bottomless brunch on Saturday with a some of my girlfriends, unfortunately service fell short. We waited a long time for drinks to arrive and being a bottomless brunch on 90min time limit we had to make the most of this The food was generous , chicken was a little dry but the burgers were delicious, along with the sausages and kimchi We were very full by the end, the cocktails are well made just service on the drinks could have been quicker
