Really lovely food. We came to try the restaurant as we are looking at getting married at Tankersley. No reservations in going again, the afternoon tea looked lovely so will definitely be back again for that. Great selection of alcohol at the bar and the staff were all very friendly.

Just wanted to send you some feedback after visiting your hotel this evening. We wanted a nice drive out on a nice summer evening to a nice place for something nice to eat. We chose your hotel as on your website it looked appealing and your menu looked appetising so we booked a table. We arrived after driving through from Rotherham to find the hotel looking a bit tired and not loved. We have visited before and found the place appealing so first impressions were disappointing. We were taken into the restaurant and seated at a table with nothing on it what so ever, not set out for a meal just an empty table. The waitress came to take our drink order and informed us there was no draught drinks only bottles which again was disappointing, the drinks arrived in bottles, no glass to go with them and not even that cold and we were charged £9.40 for the privilege disgusting really! We were then given a limited menu which wasn’t mentioned on your website at the time if booking so again very disappointing as what we had planned to order wasn’t even available. The food arrived and our starters were OK even though presentation could have been a bit better. Our main course arrived which we didn’t plan on choosing and I have to say I wish I would have complained there and then but I didn’t. We both ordered fish & chips and the fish wasn’t good at all, my piece was mainly batter and the fish was grey! When I ordered fish & chips and the price is £14.95 per meal I would expect a lot better quality than it was. I am aware you have not been open that long after the COVID epidemic but I feel you will need to make improvements to encourage people to visit.

Had afternoon high tea this time but have eaten before, lovely location, readily accessible, manor style building with excellent spa. Service wonderful, couldn't do enough for me. Food traditional high tea, would have been good to have thin , smaller , more in keeping with style. Apart from that good value

A table had been reserved for us after we found someone to ask! The furniture in the Brasserie looked cheap & the table was not very clean. There didn't appear to be anyone in charge & it showed. We wanted a bigger meal than the menu we were given showed and it was only when we had finished it became apparent there was another more full lunch type menu from which we would have ordered had we known of its existence. My food was served in the wrong order (Mains first, soup second) so by the time that was sorted out my Wife & our friends had finished theirs leaving me to eat alone. Very poor all round which is a shame as we had enjoyed our previous visits.

Menu limited and expensive like most hotels for what you get. Steak dish poor quality steak. Staff very pleasant, the restaurant was not that busy on this occasion, in the past it has been busy, people must be getting used to the poor value. Will look for another venue to meet up next time. Drinks extremely expensive( London prices).

Good food but the bar service was poor. We stood for over 5 minutes & was only asked by the chef walking past if we needed help. I believe the bar should be 'manned' at all times.
