We had a great time at Tabanco- very friendly staff, we were speaking in Spanish the entire time. And very quick service, too. The interior is nice and authentic!

Quite expensive for the quality, and very small portions. Not one of my favorite places.

Wonder meal, the young man serving us talked about each dish with gusto and feeling. Proud of his heritage he was one of the factors that make this restaurant so great. Superb meat platter and cheese platter, the sirloin tips and pork cheeks were both melt in your mouth dishes that made you slow and savour each mouthful. The wine was superb we did choose a mid price red however you could have chosen much less expensive red or indeed gone twice the price. The young lady serving coffees and the wine was wonderful and had a lovely smiling manner.

I had prebooked Tabanco with 5 other girlfriends for a fun birthday late lunch that was a little different, after a day out wandering around the back streets of Cambridge. My first visit. I loved the decor and instantly loved the atmosphere. The interior design was very authentic and beautifully done. The people who worked there were very friendly and welcoming and our booked table was waiting for us. The choice of food and drinks was the perfect balance. Handy to see what others visitors had ordered (shared cold meats) so of course that was tempting for us. We chose the sharing cheese board (delicious), giant prawns, salted peppers, pepperoni, and potatoes with tomoto sauce. All delicious. All of us thoroughly enjoyed the visit. One friend knew an ex Cambridge student who highly recommended it too. We were very well looked after, and there was the perfect balance of being prompted to order hot foods, whilst being relaxed. The street the restaurant is on is also great for shopping, friends had fun buying hats from the shop opposite and myself shoes nextdoor. It would be a lovely restaurant to pop in and make your local for just coffee, cold meats share between two, or more.

I received an email from Tabanco stating that if I booked a table online at 5.30pm, I would receive a 25% discount so I booked and it was great. Great service, great atmosphere, very authentic Spanish restaurant, great wine, love the decor. We were given a dish which was not on the menu as we had asked if there was any squid, so they went the extra mile. Will definitely return soon!

The restaurant is nice and cosy, great service, food was absolutely fantastic. Couldn’t fault the croquettas and they are my favourite Spanish tapas dish. Prices are reasonable and it just has a really nice feel. The only thing that was a little disappointing, is that I went with a friend who I hadn’t seen in a long time and we were chatting. The booking engine says you get a 2 hour window but 90 minutes in they said the next party had arrived and we needed to leave - wasn’t overly impressed by that.

Great food - especially the cheese with truffles honey.

I went to the restaurant with my wife as planned but I’m afraid I didn’t eat there. We used to go fairly regularly before Covid and liked the restaurant, food and service. But we are very disappointed to find it has changed - and not in a good way. Firstly, we ordered wine - both red - and both were very poor quality. In fact my wife only had two drinks of hers and gave up, it was very rough! Then we looked at the menu, expecting to find our favourite dishes. We liked many things including the jamon platters, cheese platters, chorizo in red wine, large prawns and chilled almond soup. However, half of these are no longer on the menu and the other half have increased in price phenomenally. This is a tapas bar - not The Ivy!! The surroundings, furniture and wine quality don’t warrant these food prices! We couldn’t find enough reasonably priced dishes to make lunch. So we paid for the wine and left. The server did ask why were we not eating and we explained, so he asked which dishes we would have liked and perhaps they could prepare them. But we could wait around all day! This is not the place we knew unfortunately.

Really nice tapas, good range of sizes and types of dish for any diet (although if you’re vegan you might struggle). The wine is not quite as good as the food but the staff are knowledgeable and helpful in selecting something that will work with the meal.
