On arrival istated that i had emailed earlier that one afternoon tea was gluten free, i got a bemused look subsequently we waited 20 mins before we eat as obviously the message hadn't been passed to the kitchen.
i thought the food was poor and i had to return my cream as there was black bits in it, looked like false eyelash or something. I had put some of the cream on my scones so sent them back as well and asked for replacement scones. these never arrived and i refused to pay for one of the afternoon teas. We was offered water on arrival and i thought it was free, but no that was an extra £4 and £4 for service charge and i didn't even get replacement scones.
As we was early we had a drink in the bar. two rose wines topped with lemondade £16. after the food we went back to the bar and once again ordered 2 more rose wines only to be told there was no more rose wine so we ordered on rose wine and one dry martini and lemonade £17. Once again i went to the bar and tried again to order a rose wine, the bar man then went away and came back with a new bottle. Why did the barmaid not do this earlier. So i had again rose topped with lemonade and dry martini and lemonade. Whilst I'm waiting to pay the barman answered the phone and left me standing and told the other barmaid to take my money, she then served someone else so i did no more and went and sat at my seat and said come find me when you want to take me money. 5-10 mins later she came over with a bill for £19. our drinks had increased in price in less that 30 mins. Obviously i told her this and she went away and came back with the correct bill.
I have stayed on the boat twice with friends and also had afternoon tea before and i had highly recommened this. Not this time, i was so disappointed with the food and especially with the bar staff who clearly have no idea what they are doing. This is meant to be a high class establishment. Kids could of run it better. Unfortunatley i will not be returning....

Great venue, but the quality of afternoon tea was very poor. Some of the sandwiches were almost inedible.

Lovely setting for afternoon tea. Menu had good choices with flexibility. Amazing experience. Staff very attentive nothing too much trouble.

Visited for afternoon tea. The restaurant and setting were great, and the service was top class - they made us feel very looked after. The food wasn't the best - we weren't convinced it was fresh. But overall we had a very good experience.
