Set in 4 acres of beautiful Dorset countryside, Summer Lodge Hotel Restaurant and Spa in Evershot is an elegant destination for fine dining. Natural light streams in to the refreshing conservatory dining area, with the menu, designed by acclaimed US chef Steven Titman, accompanied for an extensive wine list rated by Wine Spectator as one of the world’s finest.

The Summer Lodge menu makes the most of the south west’s excellent produce, with roast Dorset lamb, Rib of English beef and line-caught sea bass all present. Among the exquisite starters, try the wood pigeon with parsley and lemon gremolata, or Lyme Bay Scallops. For dessert, try English strawberry and Pistachio Mille Feuille or Hot Cointreau Souffle, to name a few.

Sumptuous Sunday lunches at the Summer Lodge restaurant include classic roasts as well as popular signature dishes. Meals especially designed for children make this a good choice for a family-friendly Suncay lunch in London.

The Summer Lodge Restaurant boasts a highly-regarded sommelier hosting regular wine dinners. Summer Lodge Hotel in Evershot is right in the centre of the village, and around 8 miles from Yeovil.

My recent birthday lunch at Summer Lodge was absolutely brilliant in every way - superb food and wine, immaculate service (with a touch of humour from one waiter who obviously knows how to enchant a 65 year old lady!) and glorious setting. Thank you so much

We booked a table for 6 to celebrate our sons 18th birthday
I have been here several times so my expectations were high. They have a wasp problem and the whole meal was spent swatting them away They said it was a recent thing but frankly they should have sorted it out immediately. The meal was good. Nice bottle of champagne amuse bouch etc. We all had salmon starter and it was delicious. All agreed. Bread was also fab. We all loved the mains; beef /fish dishes. Desserts were good too and of course the famous cheese trolley
Apart from the wasps which was really annoying, we were also distracted by how the staff were directed. There were a lot of staff and they all had a role but they seemed to be playing this role at the expense of common sense. So the sommelier cane to take wine order when we hadn’t long looked at the wine or food menu. He went away then didn’t return for some time etc so in the end we just said please just someone take our orders. It was almost comical in the rigid aheherence to roles! Similarly they had clearly been told to take away unused glasses but one of us had intended to use the glass but just had t at that point. We then had one person to return the glass and another to fill it. Just too clunky albeit well meaning!
It’s good value really despite all I say £39 per head for several courses is fine and it’s a beautiful location that makes you feel special. Just ditch the rigid formality it just doesn’t t go with the setting!
