Dear Strada
We enjoyed our visit to your restaurant yesterday evening.
The Service was good, and your Manager Mr.Fernando mentioned my name when we arrived.
The food was of good quality although the portion of Rump Steak was quite small.

Opposite the beautiful Kensington Gardens, Strada – High Street Kensington presents deliciously authentic Italian cuisine. Spread across 2 floors, Strada has a grand, sweeping staircase and a private function room.

Strada Italian restaurants are all about fresh, real Italian food. Made-from-scratch risottos, stone-baked pizzas, artisan ice cream, incredible Italian wines and coffee make up the Strada menu, and all meat and fish is cooked from fresh. A lengthy stock of premium ingredients includes higher welfare, grain-fed beef from Northamptonshire, found in Strada’s juicy taleggio burgers, and on a list of prime steaks.

Free Wi-Fi is offered throughout Strada restaurants, and cosy booths are the perfect setting for a cake-and-espresso pit stop. Not forgetting little foodies, the kids’ menu features miniature versions of delicious Italian classics.

On the fashionable Kensington High Street, Strada Kensington is a popular choice for smart Italian dining in London. High Street Kensington Tube Station is just a 4-minute walk away.

I booked a table for myself and my partner for our Christmas Day in London, and was looking forward to three quiet courses to celebrate the occasion.

I had ordered their turkey, which came as a piece of breast wrapped around a pork sausage, with some pieces of bacon which looked so good I decided to keep them for the end. The flavours were excellent, though lacking sauce, and I enjoyed about a third of it before I realised that the sausage was raw in the middle. It clearly had not been cooked before being wrapped, which is, of course, a major flaw in the design of the dish. I moved the sausage to the side of the plate, and moved the plate to the side of the table, and a waitress quickly noticed. She asked me what the problem was, but noticed it before I finished explaining, apologised, and took the plate away.

When the plate was returned, I found I had no bacon, the same piece of turkey had been reheated and dried out, and a small sausage with a little caramelisation had been added. The watercress had been replenished, but the dish was now very dry and without any sauce, it wasn't very pleasant at all. By contrast, my partner's duck was impeccable. It fell off the bone with the slightest encouragement, and the orange and pomegranate that accompanied it complemented it perfectly. This dish had all the things mine lacked.

For dessert, we had both ordered chocolate pudding, and though both were excellent, for some reason my partner's had a distinct flavour of orange, which set it off beautifully, while mine was just plain chocolate. And to add insult to injury, my salted caramel ice cream was half melted (though it still tasted brilliant).

The flaws in our experience at Strada were confined to the kitchen. Floor staff were excellent, very responsive to subtle hints as well as requests, and they did bring a couple of extra glasses of Prosecco to apologise for the problem with my main. Still, I certainly wouldn't be recommending them for a special occasion.

We have been going to the Strada for several years..and continue to love this friendly restaurant. It is small and has a a lovely atmosphere and always very welcoming. The menu is varied and as there was 7 of us dining was adequate to cater for all tastes.
However I did ask for a bottle of Prosecco to be on the table...we were a bit early..but it never arrived or offered. One of the meals ordered took so long to arrive that the other 6 had finished there's and when it did finally arrive it wasn't quite up to standard. An alternative was offered but as we had a time constriction opted for a refund. This was a one off and I wouldn't be put off to return to this restaurant. The staff are extremely efficient and charming.

The food and service were very good, but there was a lot of excessive noise from the staff clearing crockery on a side work station across the opposite side to where we were sitting. Looking around it was clear that it was annoying a lot of people especially those closest to the station.
