We consider ourselves as experienced foodies, spoilt, critical but fair! We came with high expectations due to the praise at Gault Millau. The menu of Jäckel reads tempting. Unfortunately we did not discover any outstanding dish. Food was medicore and on the rather heavy (fatty) side. Service was very attentive, wine match was good but pricy as the menu was! Very nice location but food to expensive and we were not impressed. We forgott to ask our very attentive waiter if Jäckel was present that evening. We doubt it.

Wir fanden das Essen gut, aber zu teuer. Beim gemischten Salat gab es viel zu wenig Sauce, so dass wir noch nachbestellen mussten. Bei den anderen Gästen wurde Wein und Wasser aufmerksam vom Personal nachgegossen, was bei uns leider nicht der Fall war.

I booked many months in advance to ensure a good table and was told I would be stuck in the corner upon arrival. I insisted and eventually got the table I was promised,. But, it took some heated discussion. The good was great, but the lobster was only a half. For 68 CHF, this was shocking. Not good value. Overall, we had a 5 star experience, other than these two items. I believe the shortcomings are part of a management issue. The table service was amazing.

Spiacevole sorpresa al momento di pagare. Nonostante avessimo detto chiaramente che prendevamo 3 portate del menu, le tre portare sono state fatturate alla carte dal maître de salle sostenendo che le porzioni erano più grandi. Gli abbiamo detto che questo non era problema nostro. Noi avevamo richiesto il menu. Il piatto del maialino fuori menu non era buono. Ne abbiamo lasciato piú che la metà nel piatto. E' stato offerto un dessert. Il costo é troppo elevato. Non giustifica per niente la qualità e quantità del cibo. Davvero una brutta esperienza.

We were very surprised that our reservation, which we could show on the handy, was not registered. Our reservation was for 17.30 - which surprised the Maître de Service, but he saw it on our handy. 1730 would have given us enough time for dinner, as we went to the Circus Conelli. But, the Maître de Service as well as the other staff made a very good job. They gave us a table und looked that we could leave at 1915.
