Very miserable waitress. They’ve also changed the way they do the £30 menu. You have to pay for the fries at £8, the steak used to come with fries. They wouldn’t let me boyfriend swap the glass of champagne for a beer even though beer is cheaper. Waitress tried to force us to order the dessert at the same time we ordered our starter and main. We asked if we could wait and she said no that’s what they do. We didn’t want to waste food by ordering it if we were going to be too full. Of course we knew it was a set menu and would still have to pay for it but why order a dessert if it’s just going to be sat there. Waitress asked if we wanted some water which we all said no to apart from my boyfriend who asked for a glass... she then bought out two bottles and poured the whole lot and charged us £9 for the water... you expect to pay extra in London but it’s more annoying when the staff are that rude.

Service was far too quick We were being watched the whole time by waiting staff that made us feel uncomfortable The food we had was not the best we have had in a nice London restaurant restaurant The chicken dinners were very tough and 2 steaks were tough, the chips were lukewarm Had the waiting staff took a moment to look and see half of us had left our food they would have realised it was not a pleasant experience It was for my daughters 21st birthday treat

We dined at STK on Saturday on the set menu for £35 for 3 courses and a glass of champagne. The food was excellent and have to say that the portions were really good. I would say the only down side was that the waitress did keep saying about us leaving as the table was booked to someone else afterwards and was a bit unnecessary as the restaurant was only a 1/3 full by the time we left. She bought us over the bill even though we didnt ask for it. In all a good experience and the food and value for money was very good.

The wagyu tartare was delicious as was the gin salmon. Really good experience overall and service was good however the reason i wouldnt give it 5 stars was the rosemary salted chips were oversalted and i am quite fond of salt... the steak me and my partner had was also too salty and we couldnt finish it. The pannacotta was seriously one of the best deserts ive ever had and i recommend the restaurant but in future maybe make it clear not to add too much salt on the mains.
