We visited the Stirrups for Sunday lunch and were very pleasantly surprised! The food was excellent and the staff extremely attentive. We will definitely return.

The asparagus starter was delicious, feather blade beef for main and chocolate fondant to die for. Service was excellent

We went with friends and had a lovely meal. The staff were excellent and ambience good. The location may be a bit far for some but its great for us as we are local people.

Like our previous visit, the food was excellent, but unlike our previous visit, the service was lacking!
Apparently they don't make flavoured martinis, only "very dry martinis"!
We waited so long time for our food that people who came in after us, got their food well before we did.
The staff were grouped at the bar talking a lot while we waited & when we wanted to attract the attention of staff who walked past they were always "looking in another direction".
To cap it all, having asked to take some remaining meat home for the dogs, we were presented with a A4 disclaimer which we were asked to sign.
This was supposed to be a birthday treat for my wife & I was very disappointed, especially after the previous good experience.

Always find the menu/food to be consistently good. Eaten here a number of times (including our first ever xmas lunch out) and all was extremely good, couldn't critise anything. The usual restaurant menu has enough variety. The drinks options and wine list are good and service has always been efficient so this has become our go-to place when we want a nicer experience rather than a regular pub grub but not too posh that you don't feel relaxed. There are tables al fresco in the nice weather looking over the lovely grounds and also a great function room for weddings etc. A country style vibe.

This booking was made with no previous experience or recommendation as a 'halfway house'to meet up with friends. A nice start with a warm and friendly efficient welcome. Both ala carte and 2/3 course set lunch menus were offered. The latter was chosen by 3 and a starter from the ala carte by the 4th (as a main). The offer of a glass of wine at £2 on the set lunch menu isa great idea - it makes for an overall lovely experience at a sensible price. The service was excellent. We WILL return.
