Restaurant description

Close to Westminster Cathedral & Buckingham Palace Road, St George’s Tavern serves up delicious British dishes in a cosy traditional pub setting. In the 1800s, the building was converted from a restaurant into an entertainment saloon – one of the first of its kind in London.

Since Nicholson’s pubs were first established in 1873, these traditional British inns have become synonymous with warm hospitality, hearty pub food and a speciality range of ales. As well as always featuring British pub classics like beer-battered fish & chips and gammon & eggs, the St. Georges Tavern menu is complemented by a rotating selection of pie, sausage & chop and fish specials for each season.

The St. Georges Tavern bar is always stocked with exquisite gins, warming whiskies and fine wines to pair with favourite meals, and there’s always a superb range of seasonal and regional real ales on offer. A constant at the bar is the St Austell-brewed Nicholson’s Pale Ale, made with Cornish Maris Otter malts, and a hand-picked blend of English hops.

St George’s Tavern in Pimlico is a 5-minute walk from London Victoria Rail & Tube Station.

We went to dine here, because we wanted to follow the England semifinal game. The food was average pub food, nothing special. The beer was good!

Visited on Sunday, daughter wanted the Sunday lunch beef but was not available. Otherwise service was good, food was excellent and it was very good value. Certainly go again.
