A Swedish archipelago tradition and a major part of the Swedish cultural heritage, Strömma’s annual Christmas dinner [julbord] is an opportunity to dine on-board the prestigious fin-de-siècle boat in front of a spectacular archipelago backdrop. The chance to enjoy traditional Christmas fare such as pickled herring, gravlax salmon, festive mash, pâtés, Jansson’s temptation, sausage, Christmas ham and all of the other festive flavours that adorn a Swedish julbord.
In the art deco milieu of the S/S Stockholm, tradition reigns supreme as diners immerse themselves into the experience. The boat, a pearl in itself, has light and airy saloons, a large dining area and the ideal deck for a pre or post-dinner promenade. From the table, you’re granted a first-rate view over the sea and the islands, adorned in their festive glory during December, while the boat crosses Stockholm’s inner archipelago.
The restaurateurs are Maria Svensson and Jesper Taube, and they have expertly devised one of the city’s most elegant Christmas treats on board the S/S Stockholm, the fleet’s largest boat.
