Wholesome, healthy recipes feature throughout the Spoon menu, with plenty of gluten-free and dairy-free options. Exotic tastes from overseas can be found in dishes like the saag aloo with coriander and lime yoghurt, while the sides range from patatas bravas to a selection of Scottish cheeses.
There are a great selection of freshly made cakes to enjoy throughout the day at Spoon Edinburgh, while the concise wine list includes bottles from the old and new worlds. Brunch is also a popular option here, with crowd pleasing choices ranging from rolls with sausage, egg and black pudding, through to toasted waffles with bacon, blueberries and maple syrup.

Very disappointing. Limited menu, high prices, simple pizza arrived cold. It was replaced but we'd finished our mains before our daughter's replacement meal arrived. No offer of reduction in price till we asked, then were told they could take it off the bill 'if we wanted'. My drink not served as described. Not good enough, very unlikely to go back.

Have been here a few times as it is convenient for festival theatre. Service always good and friendly. Portion sizes vary greatly peat smoked haddock was over cooked and small one day, whilst a few days later a antipasti starter I had as a main course ample. My husband's mushroom risotto looked like grey gloop with a large lump of goat's cheese on top. The presentation could be better.
Having said all that food it very tasty and that is what counts.

Interesting pleasant retro decor but don’t think the dead flowers and grease spotted menus added to the style. Ladies toilets also need a pick me up. Food was okay but for the price, lots of other better restaurants. Was very busy, so obviously popular, and sorry I didn’t enjoy it more.

We enjoyed a glass of wine and the salmon fillet served with beetroot for an early dinner. Our table was by a large front window looking out at Nicholson Street.

I love the atmosphere in Spoon, friendly, relaxed, easy. The pecan and salted caramel cake was amazing.
