Holder of 3 AA Rosettes and winner of the AA Restaurant of the year 2018, Michelin-starred Sorrel specialises in creating stunningly presented dishes, filled with bold imagination. The menus constantly evolve with the changing seasons, while the restaurant setting is filled with historic British charm, and features rustic exposed wooden beams alongside other original features.
The Sorrel menu celebrates seasonal British flavours, and uses carefully sourced ingredients from the local area, and further afield in the UK. Game dishes include Norfolk quail with tamarind, rhubarb and grapes, while fresh seafood delicacies are showcased with options like scallops with apple and celery cannelloni and cucumber ketchup.
Carefully chosen wines from the sommelier at Sorrel in Dorking perfectly complement the bold, imaginative menu. For dessert, there are unique creations such as hibiscus poached pear with cardamom, goats' milk and crystallised gin.
Combining bold, modern British recipes with a classically styled setting, Sorrel is a 5-minute drive from Dorking West Rail Station.

Fantastic service from arrival all the way to departure. Food was delicious and loved the range of amuse bouches. Champagne was also great. All in all the perfect location for my wife's birthday and can't wait to go back.

Fabulous dinner in every sense. The food is outstanding, well presented and lovely pauses between courses.
Might you consider adding a wine pairing?

Excellent food in a lovely room, but service under delivered on the evening of our visit.
We arrived to be greeted warmly, and taken straight to our table, but were then seemingly forgotten about for some time until offered drinks. And then waited again before someone eventually returned to take our order. Excellent food and very good wine did finally follow, but towards the end of the evening there were further hiccups, with tea and coffee taking an age to arrive, and our waitress simply disappearing, never to be seen again. I don't expect to have to ask for the bill twice in a Michelin starred establishment. But I did. And even then it took a while to catch the attention of any staff. Other diners were clearly in the same boat as us.
My wife has enjoyed lunch at Sorrel before, and had a totally different and much better experience, so maybe it was just an 'off' day.

What an amazing restaurant. Beautiful setting, really spacious and comfortable. We kept forgetting there were other diners because of the way the tables are laid out, which made it really nice. Great service and delicious food.

We enjoyed ourselves immensely. The food was overall fantastic - interesting, beautifully presented, and well balanced. A small disappointment was the venison which would have been improved with a rich game sauce. Although perfectly cooked it was not an inspiring dish although the crispy broccoli leaves were delicious. The apple dessert was sensational and one of the highlights were the oyster crisps as bonnes bouches. I have recommended you to over half a dozen people already! A final comment was that although there was a great deal to interest and entertain us, to be booked for 1.15p.m. and not to leave until 4.30p.m. really was too long. If you can speed up service it would improve the overall experience. But these two comments are nit picking - you deserve your Star and I am so looking forward to a return visit.

It was my second time as Sorrel and to be honest I was very disappointed. My first experience a few months ago (before being awarded a Michelin star) was far better. I would say the service this time round was not worthy of a 1 Michelin star (and I have dined in a few). The waitress was nice but there was no attention as to when to top up wine and water in glasses. When you have to pour your own drinks in a michelin star restaurant, you know something's not quite right. As for the food, I ordered lamb which was very good but my husband went for the cod which was very salty. I have been recommending the restaurant to so many of my friends based on my first experience but would be reluctant to recommend now. In terms of price, the lunch menu has gone up since being awarded a star and I don't personally think it's good value. After you add the wine, the price you pay you could get a better experience and value at a 2 or 3 michelin star restaurant in London.

The whole luncheon was delicious from start to finish.
The ambience of the restaurant is just right, privacy with atmosphere and very comfortable.
All the staff were welcoming and knowledgable about the menu.
I have had both lunch and the 9 course menu at Sorrel and my favourite dishes are those with scallops and the Herdwick lamb with Jerusalem artichoke.
