From Jason Atherton, the man behind Michelin-starred Pollen Street Social, Social Wine and Tapas in Marylebone is a relaxed tapas restaurant and wine shop. Expect modern British snacks and tapas, served alongside a wine list of fine bottles from around the world.

The Social Wine and Tapas menu begins with charcuterie and cheese selections using the finest British and Spanish produce. Elsewhere on the menu, find the likes of pan-fried hen’s egg with chorizo jam and avocado on brioche, confit sea trout with wasabi, and Cumbrian lamb rump with spring greens, salsa verde, and anchovy. Desserts are equally rich in flavour, and include fresh peaches with elderflower and lime sorbet, and salted caramel ice cream with butterscotch sauce and chocolate soil.

This was the second time I've eaten here. Service was friendly and prompt. Extensive wine list with many options across many price points. We had a very nice 2013 Cornas. The selection of plates is good, with something for everyone. We especially enjoyed the chipirones and scallops. The aubergine paired with toasted hazelnuts was very good. The duck breast was beautifully pink and simply presented.

This was a really good experience, Plenty of variety in the dishes, all very tasty. Nice wine at reasonable prices although not cheap.
We were downstairs ,so no windows but the setting was pleasant and the staff friendly and helpful. We weren't rushed even though the place was busy. All in all a good night

Positive: food quality is extremely high, senior staff is very welcoming. Definitely recommends the croquettes and the octopus salad.

Negative: very late at giving us a table (30min after booking time) considering the type of restaurant. Also, the waiter didn't provide us wine recommendations and wasn't very friendly

Good food and a surprisingly nice basement area; but the wine list is not easily digestible and is phenomenally expensive to accompany tapas. Needs to be packaged better and some more reasonably priced wines offered; maybe wines of the month/ week etc. Service was friendly but inconsistent and I think we got forgotten for a while.

Great Food. The food was delicious, the staff friendly. Over 800 wines to choose from which the staff were happy to help us with our selection. The only small negative is that the food came out slowly and we needed to chase but on the positive side the food was delicious when it arrived.
    Do try the desserts.

Brilliant. Great, if not exhaustive, wine list and really interesting menu.

My husband and I had a lovely evening here. We were seated downstairs at the bar which we thought would not be the best experience but it actually worked really well. The staff were welcoming and helpful. We enjoyed a great bottle of wine from their extensive list. Wines can be quite expensive but some unusual finds. We ordered 6 tapas dishes to share & enjoyed them all, particularly their take on Caesar Salad. We then had a small plate of cheese to finish with.
    Will definitely return.
