Seabass was delicious! Staff were great, very attentive but not over the top. I prefer the menu to the top floor

Part of a 4-storey restaurant and Grade II-listed building beside London’s famous Smithfield Market, ‘Smiths’ of Smithfield Dining Room is a spacious, New York-style diner. High-quality produce from British suppliers is combined with a range of different cooking techniques to create a delicious and diverse menu.

The ‘Smiths’ Dining Room uses a charcoal grill to deliver succulent and flavoursome 21 day dry-aged steaks, which are joined by a spiced lamb burger and BBQ chicken with grilled pumpkin among juicy grill offerings. Wok burners are used for the sizzling ‘lucky squid’ starter with Chinese broccoli, garlic crisp and chilli jam, whilst classic British flavours shine through the smoked haddock with poached egg, spinach and hollandaise, and slow-roast pork belly with mash and green sauce.

Rustic exposed brickwork and giant timber beams add down-town character to the chic, stripped back interior of the ‘Smiths’ Dining Room restaurant in London. ‘Liquid dessert’ cocktail recipes inspired by 'Smiths' favourite desserts are an indulgent way to conclude, and can be followed by a trip to the 1st floor cocktail bar or ground floor bar.

The lively Dining Room at ‘Smiths’ of Smithfield is a 4-minute walk from Farringdon Tube Station.

Really good lunch and good size portions. We did the £27.50 3 courses and Prosecco more than enough. Will definitely go back. Staff friendly and attentive. Also very good value for money.

Loved our trout scotch egg to start. Our steaks were perfectly cooked and really tasty. Desert wasn't great but the rest was delicious. Will go back again.

Good location, opposite the meat market, and the restaurant is on the second floor, but other floors give different eating / drinking experience possibilities. Popular industrial look, but done well and in good order. Service was good, with knowledgeable staff. We had the London Restaurant Festival menu, which was great value and demonstrated the quality of both the cooking and the base ingredients; all dishes enjoyed. Brilliant range of beers and good selection of wines and espresso tasted like espresso, which often they do not. All enjoyed a good evening, a bit quiet, but it was Monday evening. look forward to visiting again for the a la carte. One person had an allergy, which had been put on the booking, and they were ahead of that when we arrived and double checked menu options with the kitchen.

Cool place, excellent service, very good food. Wine prices in the restaurant are steep, with almost nothing below £40 a bottle.
