Served inside the regal Edwardian Drawing Room, Slaley Hall is an irresistible example of fine British dining. This luxurious 4-star hotel sits in 1000 acres of beautiful Northumbrian countryside, and provides the perfect tranquil setting to enjoy relaxed meals.
All the traditional treats are served on the Afternoon Tea at Slaley Hall menu, and come beautifully presented. To start, there are delicate finger sandwiches with gourmet fillings like poached chicken with lime and coriander mayonnaise, and English salted cucumber with apple crème fraîche, moving on to home-baked plain and sultana scones served with Cornish clotted cream and red berry preserves.
Three restaurants with their own unique atmosphere. Eating and drinking at Slaley Hall is all about trying new dishes, discovering different flavours and tasting exquisite wines from around the world. Head to Mr Kennedy's Brasserie for stunning views and a flavourful menu to match. Enjoy an indulgent Afternoon Tea, mouthwatering Sunday Lunch and Northumberland inspired dining in the historic and atmospheric Dukes or a light bite with golf course views at The Claret Jug. When the day is done, retire in the evening to the Whisky Snug or the Tommy Craig's for a tipple or two and late night conversation when the world is put to rights.
A great example of elegant British tradition, Afternoon Tea at Slaley Hall is a 20-minute drive from Hexham.

We were very impressed by the staff and the restaurant seating arrangements. The meal was very good and with very little waiting time. One slight down side was the number of people not wearing face coverings in the corridors.

We had an excellent meal with pleasant and attentive staff. I require a gluten free diet and was pleased to be offered specific gluten free menu.

We ate in the Claret Jug and the main restaurant. The Claret Jug was a bit tatty and average food - just had pizza. The main restaurant was better but didn't feel anything special - food was ok but lacking in choices as not everything was available from the usual menu. Perhaps my expectations were too high for a 4* hotel!!

Appreciate times are difficult but told on the night that there wouldn't be a full menu. We came away for a nice stay and special meals, so that was disappointing.

Very disappointing. Staff were excellent, well organised however the quality and choice of food was not representative of a 4 star hotel. Very mediocre. So much so we cancelled our evening meal on our third night and ate elsewhere in Slayley. Breakfast was even more disappointing, all the food was lukewarm and little choice for such a potentially good hotel.
