In a beautifully converted former coaching inn, Six Bells is a classic country pub offering quality British dishes and Master Cellarman-approved beers. With a choice of dining outdoors in the spacious garden or by the roaring log fire, the pub ensures a relaxed dining experience.

There are plenty of contemporary dishes to be enjoyed on the Six Bells menu, such as Honey Dew battered cod loin, garlic, lemon and thyme spatchcock spring chicken, and char-grilled tarragon polenta. Sumptuous homemade puddings include Six Bells’ retro Arctic meringue roll, and chocolate and pecan brownie.

For those seeking something light there are nibbles, salads, sharing platters, toasties and sandwiches stuffed with salt beef, coronation chicken or crayfish. The Six Bells Fuller’s pub drinks list spans from real ales and fresh beer to fantastic Fair Trade coffees.

The Six Bells Thame is a short walk from the town centre, with free car parking also available.

Lovely looking pub, let down by strangely passive aggressive landlord. On arrival, a little earlier than my date, I ordered a pint and explained that I had booked a table. I was asked if I'd like to run a tab and I said no, that I would pay for this drink and run a tab on the table, once seated. But when I tried to pay cash for the drink I was told that I would need to use my card in case i did a runner and didn't pay for the meal. My card was taken from me and left on the bar. I went to get it back, i never leave my card behind the car these days and the landlord became quite angry. I had the cash in my hand to pay for the drink, I hadn't even sat at my table!
Seeing that I had booked by name, email and mobile number - a little untrusting and his attitude totally unnecessary.

Food good, table service pretty decent - the landlord though, needs to find a new job.

V busy evening in the pub and they were considerably under-staffed. Could not supply Sauvignon Blanc or decaffeinated coffee, hence low drinks' score below! Car park completely full at 7.20pm and high street parking surprisingly difficult to find on a mid-week evening. Lively and friendly atmosphere. Table was tucked away and rather cold.

Had a nice light lunch even if quite noisy at next table, selected from starter menu and we were pleased with both dishes. Young lady at the bar, who we think was a new member of staff was very good, thanks to her. Could come again...

Lovely staff - friendly, happy, smooth service. DInner of pan fried salmon with couscous was very good indeed. Have been here before and will definitely come back. Good value too.

The restaurant was lovely. Nice decor. The service was very good and the food was great. Based on my latest visit, I would definitely recommend The Six Bells to a friend.
