The whole experience was a delight and the food was excellent. All very simply described and beautifully presented without being over pretentious. Excellent value for money as there is a fixed price lunch menu.

Very tasty and well presented food. We did the 5 course tasting menu which was reasonably priced at £45 per person. Service was very good, just the right amount of attentiveness and each dish was great. I didn’t like the banana pancake thing for desert - didn’t feel it went with the mango yoghurt and chocolate surprise. This was the only negative for me. Would highly recommend.

Dining area is a little old fashioned looking (that's the building style really), but the food was modern in style and presentation, and seriously tasty! Nice little poppadom welcome, then a mini chick pea cake. We chose a meat and a veg starter, both lovely, then both had belly pork and squash for main, which came with a little pot of rice and dhal. Our 3 course meal deal with a glass of prosecco included dessert, so had a lemon tart and pear/mascarpone, then a little petits four.
Lovely meal, friendly staff, great value lunch. Just beware the small suicidal vases which jumped off 2 tables without being touched!

The food at this restaurant is an absolutely delicious flavour, however it is very expensive for what you get. I would recommend the tasting menu over the a la carte as the main dish I chose cost £28 and consisted of just 2 king prawns, a tablespoon of courgetti and a very small prawn dumpling with some sauce. The tasting menu looked delicious (the table next to us had it!) and you got a real mixture of dishes and flavours. Finally, there are a lot of waiting staff and they are continually coming over and fussing, I found it rather annoying as we were trying to have a conversation but kept getting interrupted!

Set within the grounds of the Compleat Angler Hotel, which overlooks the bridge and the weir, this is an Indian restaurant with a difference. From our delicious starters [a soft kale confection and an interesting venison kebab with a butternut squash sauce] through the mains [guinea fowl - breast fillet and samosa made with the dark meat, served with delicate pilau rice and dahl] to the desserts [creamy custard laced with finely diced mango, hints of chilli and chocolate], the flavours were fresh and beautifully defined. Very efficient, professional service, neither too deferential or intrusive. Excellent value set lunch. Ranks among the best Indian meals I have experienced.

We arrived to a stunning venue in a very nice part of the country. The atmosphere was great , staff helpful and attentive without being overbearing.

We chose the 7 course taster menu, this was predicated with the, what seems obligatory, sampler to set the scene and prepare our pallet for the culinary delights to follow.

The whole dining experience and flavours were amazing and myself and my guest would definitely return, although next time will try the a la carte menu for variety.

The only negative was that the waiter kept filling up our water glasses, sometimes it would have been nice to have been asked :-)
