One of London’s most historic and best loved culinary institutions, Simpson’s in the Strand brings classic British cuisine up to date. Since it first opened as a chess club and coffee house in 1828, Simpson’s has provided an elegant backdrop to historical meetings, literary debates and momentous meals of all kinds, and is now marking itself out as one of the city’s landmark restaurants.
Crafted by Adrian Martin, Simpson’s Master Cook, The Simpson’s on the Strand menu showcases the finest seasonal ingredients and quality produce of the British Isles. The menu features the likes of traditional duck and pork terrine pie and griddled prawns alongside Simpson’s signatures such as sea trout fillet, Tongue-in-cheek or 28 day dry aged roast rib of Scottish beef traditionally served from the restaurant’s carving trolleys.
Find Simpson's in the Strand a short walk from the river, Covent Garden and both Temple and Charing Cross stations.

Good. Quiet table.Excellent food and lovely staff. Old-world decor and . long culinary history which is pleasant compared to all the modern bistros springing up looking virtually the same.

Simpson's is a lovely restaurant and bar and the dining room is elegant complemented by the silver carving trolly. The roast beef was excellent and the horseradish sauce, but the roast potatoes were not very crisp. Very enjoyable but too expensive to become a regular lunching pad.

As always, one is taken back to the Gilded Age when dining at Simpson’s. A family favourite for many years, it is always a pleasure with impeccable staff, ambience and food.

The whole experience was superb, ambience, environment, service and of course the food and wine which were consistently delicious. We were celebrating a special occasion and expected excellence from Simpsons but what we experienced went beyond our expectations and made the day very special. Thankyou.

Everything as usual was perfect, the staff are friendly, professional and helpful. The food is amazing (especially the beef, served from the trolley), and the portions are a really good size for fine dining, my favourite place for a special evening.
