Restaurant description

Championed by critics including Jay Rayner, AA Gill, and Time Out, Shoryu Liverpool Street serves authentic Japanese cuisine. As well as being renowned for its ramen noodle dishes, Shoryu presents an electrifying yakitori grill immersed within the buzz of the dining room.

The varied Shoryu menu is headed by ramen noodle dishes, made with 12-hour-cooked broth, juicy pork belly and a nitamago egg. Guests can select extra toppings, as well as sides like prawn tempura, gyoza dumplings and doughy shoryu buns. Traditional desserts at Shoryu Liverpool Street include mochi balls, cleansing sorbets and Japanese-inspired cheesecakes and cakes.

Along with a list of enticing house cocktails, Shoryu in London serves iced beers and Japanese whisky, and a sake-expert sommelier is on hand to help with matching drinks. In the dining room, guests can dine at communal benches for views into the kitchen, at private tables, or outdoors within lively Broadgate Circle when the sun shines.

A favourite for casual Japanese dining in London, find Shoryu just 2 minutes’ walk from Liverpool Street Station.

The best ramen in London in my opinion, and I've eaten a lot of ramen! It was super busy on a Friday night but the staff still managed to be super friendly and helpful. Great cocktails also.

Excellent food, and great service only complaint is the very cramped table.

Waiter (trainee) ruined the evening - not up to the standard I have experienced before - most disappointing.

Shoryu at Liverpool Street is great, the £38 bottomless ramen was amazing. A lot of value, fresh and tasty food. Service was amazing!

I was enjoying my Raman and the waitress came several times over 15 mins asking if she can take my bowl away and would I like to order drinks. I hope they can tell when a customer finished his/her meal!

A very good meal. My husband and I had the £22 set menu with bun, ramen and cocktail. We were very interested in a particular cocktail which had been advertised on the promotional email but when we got to the restaurant the choice had changed (the one we'd seen on the advert was from the Winter Menu and in the last few days the restaurant had changed to a Spring Menu). When we queried it, the barman agreed to make the one we wanted, so we were very pleased. The steamed buns were very tasty - both chicken and halloumi varieties. I really like the fresh garlic (which you can press yourself) and the sesame seeds provided on the table so you can add them to your meal according to your own taste. The ramen was surprisingly filling so we had no room for extra drinks or dessert. This was the second visit for us and I'm sure we'll go again. The location is very convenient, being right near the train terminal. The only downside is that it's a little pricey, especially for drinks.
