The food and service were lovely. Best Naan I've had and the Garlic Chicken Grill Curry was delicious! My team had a lovely time and we will be visiting again!

One of the oldest and best loved Indian restaurants in London, Sheba has been serving Brick Lane since 1974. Awarded Best Curry House in the UK in The Cobra Good Curry Guide 2015, Sheba offers classic dishes alongside signature recipes, a range of vegetarian options and Bangladeshi seafood specials.

Using seasonal ingredients directly from all corners of South East Asia, the Sheba menu tantalises diners with both recognisable classics and signature specials. Only premium halal meat is used, with a selection of kebabs being a popular option to share. Tandoori recipes use carefully measured blends of spices and yoghurts, while a traditional charcoal barbeque grill showcases the Sheba restaurant jerk seasoning.

As well as a great selection of vegetarian dishes, Indian seafood delicacies at Sheba Restaurant Brick Lane are an eclectic venture away from the norm that features at so many other curry houses. The staff, dressed in traditional dress, add to the exotic ambience.

A key part of Brick Lane, Sheba Restaurant London is just an 8-minute walk from Shoreditch High Street Rail Station.

Went here with 12 of my colleagues for our Christmas Party on a Friday night. Food was very nice - the spicy dishes were spicier than expected (which I don't mind, but some of my colleagues struggled to eat theirs). The atmosphere was absolutely mad, I know it's Christmas and things can be chaotic but this was next level - lots of shouting, barking instructions. We found it funny but I guess many would find it stressful. A few meals were also forgotten, so my colleague only got her starter once we had all finished ours. The Jalfrezi was nice and I loved the Chilli Ponir, and the keema naan was very good too. I'd go back (just not at Christmas!).

Food was Ok, service was not brilliant waiter asked me point blank to leave for him tips in cash as they would not get it of I added to the card. I found that bad manner.

Food was excellent but the service felt rushed.

We had booked a table for 7 but it clearly was a table for 6. One of us was uncomfortable and the rest of us were squished definitely dampened the experience some what.

Everything was fantastic. Great service. We ordered Keema naan and saffron chicken curry plus king prawn curry and the food was the best indian food we have ever eaten. Please try this place. You will not be dissapointed.

    Where do I start...
Poppadums: My plain ones were ok but my friend had two spicy ones and they hadn't been cooked properly; slightly translucent but burnt in other placed like they'd be microwaved rather than fried in oil.

Pickle tray: Raita/Onion salad/Lime+Chilli Pickle/Mango Chutney - these were OK, but the mango chutney was a little on the cheap side. Sharwoods or another brand would've been nicer.

    Starters:
Chicken Pakora - not a nice piece of chicken breast but moulded meat into a flat pancake sort of thing - odd
Chilli Paneer (Ponir?) - dry and slightly burnt, looked to be simply fried in chilli powder - not cooked in a sauce as usual so spicy from the powder but not very flavourful
Onion Bhaji - flat rather than a round ball (probably to speed up prep) - on the OK side but nothing fantastic.

    Mains:
Afrani Chicken Korma (Butter) - absolutely awful - very thick and overly sweet with way too much coconut milk and added cream. Tasted more like chicken in melted coconut ice cream. Curry had no 'curry' flavour and couldn't taste any cardamom pod or saffron flavour as is usual with a Korma.

Methi Chicken - sauce bland and tasted very similar to my friend's sauce for her Biriyani. No obvious 'methi/fenugreek' taste which I was expecting. Chicken was very dry as if the curry had been prepared a while back and then re-heated in a microwave for convenience.

Vegetable Biryani - came as a moulded shape of rice with random bits of cucumber and tomato on it, very odd. No real effort made in making the biryani, looked and tasted more like Pilau rice with vegetables stired through it rather than a slow cooked rice dish. Accompanying curry sauce was bland like the methi chicken.

Spicy Daalaubergine Special - again a bland curry sauce with a few slices of aubergine - nothing authentic or spicy.

    Drinks:
Cobra - slightly flat but otherwise OK.
    Coke - OK

We came here thinking I would get a proper curry but left very dissapointed - AVOID!!!
