Absolutely superb! Had one of the star deals and was very impressed by the quality for the price. Amuse bouche was included (and deliciious) as was the bread which was frequently replenished. The Lune valley lamb for main course was spot on and the petits fours (another delightful surprise) were generous and moreish. Delightful setting, great attention to detail and faultless service. Also greatly appreciated the absence of music. A very memorable meal.

    Great location, really central.

The service here was great, everyone was very friendly.

Afternoon tea was lovely, we loved the All in the Game theme - my mum was a little disappointed that a couple of the desserts advertised weren't included but overall the theme was good.

As every, the simple menu was imaginative and delicious; the extensive wine list offers an amazing choice and some value options; the service is attentive without being obtrusive

I booked this last minute (the day before) as a treat for my mum, who was visting me. The staff were very helpful contacting me before the visit for card details to secure the booking. The hotel was easy to find and everyone on site was very polite and informative. The afternoon tea was very pleasant and the theme (board games) added a little uniqueness to the meal. It took some time for staff to approach us at the end of the meal for payment, but overall I would definitely recommend. I'm only putting three stars for ambience as the room was extremely warm. Someone from another table did ask them to turn the heating down as we were leaving and I could have asked too (but you know, British politeness) but it would have been nice for the staff to notice how stifling the room was becoming and amended accordingly.
